Suggestions for a Good Immigration Lawyer

My wife and I have been married for over 4 years and we have 2 year old son. She's a pacific islander that came to the US in 2004 with an I94 or I95 Visa. She got a work permit and worked for the airlines for several years. Her work permit expired in 2007. She was going to go back home to her country, but stayed on due to some issues with relatives and her 1st husband insisted she stay. I think this hurt her chances for getting a green card, she was given a SSN# from immigration. (She married was married to her first husband from 2003 to 2007). Her husband was a real lowlife and control freak.

Anyway, now we are married (2009 to present) and we're going thru the application process. I think our chances would be much better if we had a good immigration lawyer. Does anyone have any good recommendations please?

I dunno if there is any significant Islander community here, I think not, but the Spanish and the Arabs and the Asians and Africans all have attorneys who specialize in their communities for immigration.

Sounds like she's good people, but judging by the stupidity of the feds, she'd probably be one to get denied while some machete bandit stays.

Good luck.

You had better watch yourself son. Immigrant women are known to fabricate stories of abuse, first because that automatically will get them status in the US and then secondly to take your ass to the cleaners in the divorce.

Thanks for the heads up. She's being honest, he remarried within 3 days of their divorce becoming final. He abused his new wife so badly that his new wife lost a child.

U must have been real desperate and not able to find a woman with legal status that you chose an illegal one who is divorced and had ex husband issues. With there being a ton of immigrant women in this area of all ethnicities who are legal.

I-94 is not a visa. It's a form that CBP stamps at the border.

Immigration does not issue SSNs.

It sounds like she got conditional residence based on her first husband's status, but failed to meet the conditions for a green card.

By Pacific Islander, I assume you mean the Phillipines, which is one of the hardest countries to immigrate from. Get yourself to a lawyer ASAP, but there are lots of shady ones out there. If you cannot pay, try a charity. Here is a good list.

the story that fairfax county democrats are allow deporting of democrat green cards

IS A LIE - they are printing money in DC to flood the area to partake in as much counterfeiting and chronysim as they can get away with

----------------------------
no mam i do not beleive your internet story for a second

and it's just a delaying story

----------------------
me - i could probably care less, UNTIL one starts talking about Phillipines unwilling to transfer funds to pay your Social Security, until obama is billing me for you COD to me and he's getting the shit while assaulting me in my home and preventing me from working

or you holding a gov position and getting shitloads of cash as a democrat ?

problem is: today those are a problem

tell me stories about Phillipinos being good eggs: i've had experiences already i can prove that's not always so - subject to crime experiences.

i don't beleive any of it for a damn second

Also, THIS. I can't tell you how many stories I have seen over few years I was involved with the immigration process; most of the people who used USC's for papers and then left or cheated were predominantly Asian (Russian, Thai, Filipino). I hope you've known her for a good, long time and trust her... because those are some of the shadiest people out there.

There was this Ethiopian immigration lawyer who helped people file for their papers and help then navigate the process. He was highly recommended and I even used his service when I was bringing my wife and 3 kid from home Ethiopia. Long story short, the guy turned into the dark side and and tool $439k that h was suppose help his clients with. I personally one person who paid him $18k and ended up being deported. Word is, he has been disbarred and is on the run. Rumour has it he is in either Europe or Canada where he has family. He use to practice out of skyline office and was very well known and educated.

Please do a thorough background check on whoever u decide to hire. There are a lot of dishonest people out there.

People who say comments like this mean that they like to ask women out who are out of their league or they just want a slave they can control. So they go for illegal asian women of pacific islander and asian descent who have to depend on the man for support and use him for legal status hah either way you get used in the end! dummies.

Oh, I know. My wife is a hottie by the way, well educated, and always fun to talk to. I knew her for several years before we got married.
