Title Max in Burke closing? WTF?!

I often go to the 7-11 located in the strip mall area where the Walmart is located in Burke. A few years ago, maybe longer, a Title Max store opened net to the 7-11.

I just noticed it said that the store was CLOSING.

Is this a sign of the economy turning around?

No worries - There are plenty of those title joints down on RT 1 in Hybla Valley area for you.

That's good news - a Title Max nearby is a sure indicator that you don't live in a tony neighborhood. Another indicator is if your local high school is playing in the state basketball championship - unless you live in Wyoming or Utah.

When I bought my house 20 years ago I checked the neighborhood banks to see if they had bulletproof glass, and whether I could pump first before paying at the gas stations.

If I had to house-shop today I would avoid any area with a Title Max, pawn shop, check-cashing store, or adult-oriented business.

I pegged it for a year tops when it opened. They actually made it longer.

I never see anyone at the car title / loan store on Rt. 29 that's close to I-66. My guess is that facility will close within the next year.

^^^^^ - I meant to add Centreville into my post as that's the location I'm talking about.

Add Rent-A-Center and head shops to that list.

You should also check the percentage of free lunch recipients at the schools your kids will attend.

Then I guess Tyson's Corner/McLean is not for you.

Bet you look for gas stations where you can get pumped in the men's room.
