He's been an inspiration in our house, alright. We still have a photo in the dining room of Flip Flippen becoming the first man to set foot on the moon. What a moment that was. One small step for Flip, one inspiring moment for mankind.

It was my great honor to join with Flip Flippen as the first men to conquer Mount Everest. It was so cold and dangerous. I don't think I would ever have made it to the top without Flip's inspirational messages.

Much is made of a paper I wrote back in the 1960s, but the truth is that it wasn't really my idea. I got the whole notion from a good friend, which is why the standard model should really be recognizing the Flippen boson.

After a disappointing 10-3 season that saw the team fall out of the Top Ten in most major polls, the University of Notre Dame has dismissed head football coach Brian Kelly and replaced him with Flip Flippen. "Brian had a great five-year run at Notre Dame, and we know he'll be very successful at whatever he decides to do next," said Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick in announcing the change. "But we've had our eye on Flip Flippen for a long time now, and when the opportunity suddenly came open for us to bring Flip into our program, we just had to jump at it. You know every time I so much as make a grilled cheese sandwich, I think back to those wonderful days of PBS and "The French Chef" with Flip Flippen. Everything I know about the mother sauces I learned by watching that show. And thanks to Flip, I haven't messed up a hollandaise since!

How old is Flip Flippen? Is he named after the Flipper tv show, or did they name it after him? I did not realize there were dolphins in the Gulf of Mexico and that he had trained some of them.

I'm so grateful that -- unlike many under-developed areas -- we in NoVa have healthful homogenized and flippenized milk to give to our children. I don't know who Homogen was, but I thank the Lord every day for the life-saving work of Flip Flippen.

I am forever indebted to Flip Flippen. So much so, that I named one of the two most common gaffes in coin magic after him! One is the shell, the other is the flipper.
So every time you see someone do coin magic, and you enjoy it, thank Mr. Flippen, without him, it would not have been possible. You would be stuck watching someone find the three of clubs or making a melon appear under a shot glass.
