Best Pizza in NoVA?

Hey guys, I just moved here to NoVA from Jersey, and I am loving it! However, it's been quite difficult for me to find some good 'za. Where is the best place to get a pie?

Have someone freeze some pizza in NJ and send it over.
Otherwise , learn to like Papa Johns or pizza made by Arabs.

If you ask where is the best pizze you need to id the type of pizza you like; NY Style, Chicago Style or thin crips crust (Racine Style). Being from Jersey you could be near NY, Philly or neither so we can;t assume it is NY style for you. But, bottom line; there is not much in the way of good pizza around here.

7-11 in Fairfax City has great pizza empinada's. You need to time your visit very carefully for a purchase before any landscape crews take over the store for 15 minutes at a time and wipe out the supply.

Ok Best Pizza

1. Pomodoro in Fairfax
2. Vocelli/Zpizza

Pomodoro is my favorite, the crust is delicious and the slices are big and floppy.

I like Vocelli's crust more than zpizza's. I always get the same thing at Vocelli's and that's the Garlic Spinacci Pizza (feta/tomatoes/olives/spinach/onions).

I just recenty started tasting zpizza and I am impressed. The crust isn't as good as Vocelli's but the toppings are amazing. Zpizza gives you some amazing pizza toppings (check out their site zpizza.com for some of their specialty pizzas).

I keep hearing Church Street Pizza get recommended. BIG MISTAKE. Church Street Pizza is on the level of high school cafeteria food. It is absolutely disgusting. I gave them two chances with a month apart and both times, the crust was that gross cardboard type crust, and the toppings had some odd smell to them. They use canned vegetables and the pizza really does not come out good at all. I'm never going back.

Mama Lucia's deserves a special mention. Their pizza is good, the crust is good and the toppings are decent but expensive. If I'm in the mood for a cheese pizza, I'd pick Mama Lucia over Vocelli/zpizza. But if I want anything with more toppings/flavor, skip Mama and go for Pomodoro or Vocelli or Zpizza.

STAY AWAY FROM CHURCH STREET PIZZA - YOU'LL THANK ME LATER.

Checked out Pomodoros couple times since it's been mentioned here, I personally thought it sucked.
Zpizza is pretty much shit too. Hard to believe you compare another place to cafeteria food but like Zpizza?

Tonys NY pizza- not the Fair Lakes crap = sucks, the one in Manassas or Bristow, different owners= great pizza.

Since this thread is titled "best pizza in NOVA", I won't feel like an asshole for nominating an establishment in Arlington. PUPUTELLA on Wilson Blvd has THE BEST PIZZA. Dine in though, it's a lot better fresh out of the oven.

Went to Pelano's in FFX (Kamp Washington across fm the K-Mart) a few times recently. You can tell they use quality ingredients -- pies are fantastic. I was told the snausage is from Chicago -- very dense and flavorful.

Luciano Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria in Tysons 1 or on 123 in Oakton.

Their Pizza is good, but their White Pizza is the absolute best.

No thanks for you at all! Since it's right off the bike trail and in the same building as Caffe Amouri, I stop in at Church Street Pizza fairly often. This is New York-style pizza that you are apparently unfamiliar with, and it's very good. Much like what I grew up on in the flour-strewn pizza dives of North Jersey. That smell by the way is something called oregano. Give it a chance...it grows on you.
