It featured a Virginia license plate with the racial stereotype of a Native American in a traditional feathered headdress put on the side of a football helmet. The frame had the name of the NFL franchise on it as well that spelled out the R-word for all to see.

Why would Virginia allow this type of offensive speech to be printed on a government sanctioned item?

Would writing to the Governor help to remove this blight from our roadways so my young children will not be exposed to these outdated and racist images?

But you ignored the comment about localities (you know, governments) with racist names. Why?

As for what the government can and can't do, nobody is disputing that. But, some members of Congress have tried to put pressure to have the name changed.

Not only do they have the REDSKINS the name for all sports they have even adopted the REDSKINS logo as well!

- There are many other high schools with nearly 100% student body of Native
Americans who have the REDSKINS as their mascot.

- There is strong evidence that Native Americans FIRST called themselves REDSKINS as a way to distinguish themselves from white people and it was from RED WAR PAINT not their actual skin tone.

Classic example of the politically-correct-police finding a small minority to agree with their cause and calling it a controversy.

Once Daniel Snyder gets an actual Native American tribe to "adopt," the team in their honor there will be nothing that anyone can do to change the name then!
