I am watching skating Olympics on nbcsn and Russia is kicking ass.

Are any famous skaters from Fairfax County???

Mike Weiss used to train at Fairfax Ice Arena.

Ashley Wagner spent a few years at West Potomac High and NVCC.

I remember Mike Weiss being very public and vocal informing everyone that he was NOT GAY. Used to parade around his wife and kid.

Wagner is an embarrassment. Saying BULLSHIT when she saw her scores. She shouldn't even be there. Nagasu was robbed.

I love watching figure skating but the judging is totally corrupt. The fix is in before they even take the ice.

Best skater I've seen so far is that Italian girl, Carolina something. But despite being 2012 World champ and five time European champ, she has no chance.

How can Coca-Cola or Wheaties make any money on an Italian skater? They can't and that's why she won't win. Typical Murcan crooked shit.

As was already stated, Michael Weiss would be the most famous from this area. Last I heard he still lived in the Burke area and switched his training facility to Laurel Ice Gardens.

Numerous top notch figure skaters have passed through this area for training purposes though, including Olympic bronze medalist Timothy Goebel, one or two different national champions from Japan, and a few others who have been to the Olympics over the years. Even though the facilities are far from perfect, Fairfax Ice Arena has one of the best coaching staffs in the United States when it comes to figure skating.
