I went to the Hibachi Buffet & Grill in Chantilly last week for the first time. Not bad at all. Not real cheap but huge selection. Over 200 items.

Just follow the fat people. I remember that place in Annandale that had a buffet. You had to pay and go through a turnstile. They had to remove the turnstile because the really fat people kept getting stuck.

I guess if fat people want to keep eating everything they see that is their right. I do not like that they are rewarded with an up close handicapped space for being a pig. If anything they should have to park further away and walk some of the blubber off.

They're not too popular in Fairfax for whatever reason but Manassas has 3:

Hibachi Buffet, also now in Chantilly near Game Parlor as noted above
Golden Corral
Great American Buffet

All 3 are right off 66/234 in Manassas, and now that I check Great American Buffet's website it seems they have locations in Alexandra and Falls Church too:

5902 Richmond Hwy.
Alexandria, VA 22303
(703) 329-1555

8365 Sudley Road
Manassas, VA 20109
(703) 369-6791

3490 South Jefferson
Falls Church, VA 22041
(703) 379-0108

Go to Paradiso (Franconia Road)... they have a $10 lunch buffet daily... and a Sunday Brunch w/ unlimited mimosas, champagne or OJ for $22. Pasta station is made to order as you like it.

Sushi Naru in Old Town Alexandria, VA for sushi... pretty good quality for buffet sushi... other options such as gyoza, miso soup, and salad.

Blue Pearl Chinese Place on Commerce street also has a buffet for lunch and for dinner. I'm not sure of the prices. I wasn't a fan of this place when I went, but you can order stir fry as you like or soup.

If you're willing to go into Sterling, there's a place called King's Buffet near Wegmans. Also, there's Chang's Chinese Restaurant, which has an unlimited buffet most days of the week.

Yes I too find it annoying that people are now claiming that being fat is a disability.

I don't get it. I see people like this often at buffet's on the rare occasion I go (which is almost always social). Some of these people are so fat they can't even walk well. Worse the kids are already fat too. Watching these people makes me loose my appetite.

PS Kohinoor Dhaba has a nice small buffet which is located in Crystal City in Arlington (although it sounds like you are on the other side of Northern Virginia). It isn't what I would call a stuff your place type buffet more of a sample a little of this or that and most of the food is relatively healthy compared to other buffets and also about half of it is vegetarian. It's the one buffet I can actually say I like that I can think of in this area. Unfortunately only in America are buffets about gluttony so often and stuffing your face rather than sampling or having selection. In France they have buffets and the French don't stuff their faces with food.

what about that Hibachi grill buffet in chantilly, as the worst of the worst go there. When I go to play dungeons and dragons at the Lame Parlor, I see the disgusting fattys limp out of their cars and shuffle up to the grill buffet.

They are drooling like mastiffs before they get to the entrance door, which needs to be made into one of those automatic doors, the lards have a hard time opening it.

If being a lardass is a disability, 66% of Americans are disabled.

Brion's Grille at University Mall has a great Sunday brunch buffet and they have a lunch buffet every weekday. It's the best buffet I have found in Northern Virginia.

20/20 did tests on the serving utensils at 8 all you can eat buffets.

Lab results revealed fecal matter on every serving utensil in all 8 places.

Chances are, with all the immigration since those tests 15 years ago, the problem is much worse now.

Many of the cultures that immigrate here are well known for not washing their hands after going&wiping, then handling food and cooking for the general public at their restaurants.

Some middle easterners wipe with one hand(no tp) so they can eat with the other.

This is the one that I was going to suggest.

They also have a regular menu for those that would prefer to order their entree.

Why don't you just go to Wegmans during lunch hour and pretend it's a buffet? Just keep going back for "seconds" and see what happens. If anyone confronts you, just tell them you didn't know it wasn't a buffett. Even easier if you are Asian and can pretend to not speak English.

Kings Buffet in Kingstowne is awful. The one time I went there I picked up food. It was the worst. I can't believe the buffet would be any better. The buffet price is reasonable, but food is unappetizing. The clientele did not look upscale either.

There's a good one in Herndon at the K-Mart center --- Royal Buffet.

Just be sure to go during busy hours or the food will not be fresh. I am sure that's the same at any buffet-type place.

There's a sushi all u can eat place near the Outback -- can't recall the name, but it's (or was if it's gone) good.

I went to Hibachi Grill last night to celebrate ma-in-law's 80th birthday with her extended family.

I now know why my wife, who has been there a few times with acquaintances/colleagues, never had ME go there with her.

I could rant and rave about the various food items that were WAY beyond oily/greasy (like, say, the "lobster balls" that tasted/felt-to-the-mouth like cooked-in-not-hot-enough oil breaded mayo and pretty much nothing else) or the surprisingly tasteless sushi (it's hard to get sushi to have no taste - really, it is. Yet this had no taste...). And to top it off, there was the "vanilla ice cream" that apparently had been thawed and refrozen...or something...so there was a quarter inch of something yellowish and crusty on top (albeit VERY flavorful!) with something else down further below in the cup that I actually didn't venture into too much before saying "No, I don't think so...").

There was ONE selection - maybe it was Korean Beef? - that was very very good.

But literally everything else I tried (granted, not everything available) truly was a disappointment.

Anyway, at a price exceeding $20/person and the resulting disappointment I personally will not be going back; the ambiance was fine, the service was fine, but I still greatly prefer the food and serving method of Peter Pan Buffet (that has been discussed elsewhere - at Peter Pan there aren't really "lines", at Hibachi Grill there is essentially one line down an aisle of food selections so by the time you get to the end what you got at the beginning can have cooled remarkably) with its much more reasonable pricing as well.

=======

Ma-in-law, however, loved it; among other items she had the "cook it for you" thingee to her preference and was wowed by it. Since she was the Birthday Girl, the night was a win anyway.

Instant shits both times I ate there. The amount of super fat fucks at this dump is amazing. A table for four can only seat two they are so big. Reminds me one time I ate at a place in Springfield. One guy was so fat he used two chairs to sit on, once for each ass cheek. I watched as he waddled outside and got in his car in the handicapped space. Typical use of a HP space these days. Havent seen anyone use it that seems to need it just fat fucks getting closer to the food source.

Indian lunch buffet @ Aditi (Kingstowne) is very good. Good amount of choices. Not too expensive.
Bangkok Golden lunch buffet (Falls Church) is decent.

As far as Korean buffets, can't go wrong with either Il Mee or Hee Been. Little bit pricy, but definitely tasty.

Chinese buffets: Blue Pearl (Springfield), Green Olive (route 1), Hokkaido (Falls Church) are okay. I'm not too picky though.
