Recruiting offices for the Military

My brother is interested in signing up for the military and I don't know where the recruiting offices are in this area. I'm near Rt 1 in Alexandria. I know there use to be a place for Army, Navy, and Marines recruiting off of Rt 1 somewhere but I can't locate them. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you.

Here are some local recruiting offices in the Fairfax area. I applaud your brother for considering serving his country, but shouldn't he be the one on here asking the questions? He'll need to be far more motivated if he plans on a career in the armed forces. Good luck.

Just a word of warning:

DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THE RECRUITERS SAY. READ EVERYTHING YOU SIGN UP FOR. ASSUME THAT IF IT IS NOT IN WRITING IT IS NOT TRUE.

They can promise you the moon and the stars verbally. All that matters is what is on paper.

As another poster mentioned, be very careful. Those recruiters will try and rip you off. Anyways, good luck, and thank you in advance for your service to our country.

This is absolutely correct. They'll give you the impression that in 6 months, you'll be the equivalent of Rambo working on space shuttles and flying airplanes, but in reality, you'll end up mopping the floors and taking out the trash because you don't know your job that well, and you're the lowest ranking.

I was in the military, and my tech training covered things like network administration, server maintenance, troubleshooting, etc. Just like my recruiter said it would be! Until they stuck me in front of a monochrome screen, routing messages for 3 1/2 years.

If you pick a stupid job like tank maintenance or infantry, go directly to Afghanistan, do not pass "Go," do not collect $200.

Joining the military was the smartest thing I've ever done in my life. However, getting out runs a close second.

The guys at the recruiting office on Rt 1 in Hybla Valley(next to the Old Country Buffett) are great. My son travelled all the way down there to join the Marine Corps. He is currently in Iraq, serving our country. He loves his job. He is doing exactly what he signed up for.
We are very proud of our Marine. Please keep him and all of our military personnel in your prayers. We all want them to return home safely after serving our country.
There is no greater way to show your American pride than serving in the U.S. military.

I agree, DGRIFF. I pray for our fighters, I support them, I respect them and I love them. Including the recruiters.

But I still give the above advice to every potential recruit.
