Alexandria man killed in Arlington crash
A 24-year-old Alexandria man is dead and a 24-year-old Baltimore man is facing manslaughter charges following a fatal accident in the early morning hours of Jan. 24.
According to Arlington police, a Jeep Wrangler operated by Aman Lail of Baltimore was traveling eastbound on Lee Highway at Fort Myer Drive when it struck a Chrysler Crossfire being operated by Saqlain Chowdhury of Alexandria.
Chowdhury was transported to George Washington University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Lail was charged with driving under the influence/aggravated involuntary manslaughter charges, and was held without bond.
Lee Highway’s eastbound lanes were closed for about five hours for investigation of the incident.
