Alexandria man killed in Arlington crash

A 24-year-old Alexandria man is dead and a 24-year-old Baltimore man is facing manslaughter charges following a fatal accident in the early morning hours of Jan. 24.

According to Arlington police, a Jeep Wrangler operated by Aman Lail of Baltimore was traveling eastbound on Lee Highway at Fort Myer Drive when it struck a Chrysler Crossfire being operated by Saqlain Chowdhury of Alexandria.

Chowdhury was transported to George Washington University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Lail was charged with driving under the influence/aggravated involuntary manslaughter charges, and was held without bond.

Lee Highway’s eastbound lanes were closed for about five hours for investigation of the incident.

County police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Sara Bertollini at (703) 228-4243.

When the killer gets done with his 5 day jail sentence he will be free to drive again. This is how Virginia protects us all.
