Nice wreck on Hunter Mill
Posted by: ITRADE ()

Anyone else see the nice Xterra or 4-Runner wreck on Hunter Mill yesterday - right by Hunter View. Looks like some highschool dude swerved up the embankment on the right side off the road, bounced off of it, hit the bank on the left side, bounced off of it, then connected with a telephone pole. Pieces of car, red clay, tire, and tree everywhere.

Someone smoking some J too early in the afternoon, still hung over, or did they "swerve to avoid a deer"....

Anyhow, saw 3 FX engines/trucks en route, one medic unit and two batallion chiefs. Of course, they were there before FCPD showed up. I guess Dunkin Donuts was having a BOGO sale.

That's because the fire department drives with lights and sirens on for EVERYTHING, even for really stupid shit that isn't an emergency. The chiefs drive around looking important and then show up and see who can be "in charge" all while they put on their stupid little command vests to look important. The police do not operate that way. The fire department usually gets there before the police due to this fact. Say what you want about the PD but they are usually understaffed, many times are stuck on one call while more are holding for them, and they do a lot of paperwork. Those guys work way harder than I ever did.

Are you a Fing idiot!? When your ass is laying on the side of the road bleeding every second counts. That's why the FD runs code to every call. They don't know if its an emergency or not till they arrive on the seen and scope it out. Morons like you think they know and understand everything. I got news for you. You don't.

And I "got" news for you as well, I think I understand far more than you know. I am a retired firefighter. I spent 33 years on the job. Were you even alive 33 years ago? I know first hand that the fire department runs, sometimes unneccesarily IMO, with emergency equipment for all sorts of BS, including nosebleeds, "help, I've fallen and I can't get up", ridiculous and repeat alarm bells and to literally hand out bandaids among other things.

I think if you go back and actually read what was written you will find that I was referring to ITRADE's snarky statement that the police were not yet on the scene and perhaps at the doughnut shop instead and I offered up comment and opinion on why the FD always arrives first in most cases. It was not necessarily meant to comment on the fact that they ran "code" to this particular accident.

Please, read before you fly off the handle. I'll bet you were the pride of your paramedic school.

no they didnt have to scrape him off the road, he lived, he wasnt even drunk, turns out a man in the woods was cutting down common ground trees to give himself a better view of the road, at which the same time he came over the hill only to find a tree falling from the sky nearly crushing him to death, instantly he swerved to avoid a serious accident in doing so he proceeded to 180 over and over until a final stop at about 2160. the rest was the grounds fault and the tires were also old and worn, its common too in exterras that they spin violently out of control when the wheel is jerked unexpectedly. fuck you guys. and i love the ffd. and your a dick suck yourself

I think it's sad, but fairfax's finest know about Darwin's theory.

Sadly, Darwin was right again.

Hold on. You need to explain this better.

Some guy cut down a tree? The rest was the grounds fault?

So this kid was just driving along and a tree fell in front of him, and everything else was the grounds fault????

If some asshole cut down a tree that fell into the path of an innocent kid that caused the kid to die, then the asshole needs to be held responsible.

If it was just some kid screwing up, okay, let it be.

But what is it about some old guy felling a tree?

That really means something. Did someone fell a tree in the path of a vehicle?

I do not believe that tree felling story, I live right by there I was at the scene before the cops came, Apparently he was driving very fast trying to pass cars going over the hill and over corrected his self and begin to roll. That what I heard from witness at the scene. Also once the cop arrived he found either a peace pipe or according to the fairco officer a crack pipe on the ground by the truck.
