Can't wait to learn what this was about (as if we don't already know).
Police responded at 5:40 p.m. to the home in the 4400 block of Holly Avenue for a report of gunshots heard by neighbors. The residence is near the Government Center Parkway and Lee Highway (Route 29), about a mile west of Fairfax City, and 2,000 feet from the Fairfax County Government center.
Two teens were visiting the home, an altercation ensued, and one of the visitors fired a handgun. The victim, a 17-year-old, was hit and wounded, and he was transported to the hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening wound.
Police detectives charged one of the suspects, a 17-year-old Manassas male, with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He is in police custody, and there are no other suspects.
The shooting suspect and victim knew each other, police said, but they did not discuss the motive for the incident. The investigation is continuing and additional charges may be placed.
Police did not say whether the Government Center was placed on lockdown during the investigation.
