I recently checked the weather forecast for this Friday, and it looks like the temperatures will still be relatively low, more so when wind chill is factored in. So the snow and ice probably won't be melting any time soon. Loudoun County Public Schools are already closed tomorrow and Friday, but of course, FCPS has to keep us waiting till the last minute. What do you think are the chances of a school closure this Friday?

Hope so, another round of snow is expected on monday. I love parents having to suffer taking leave and hanging out with their bratty kids. Hopefully school is closed for a few weeks.

I'm assuming there will be no school tomorrow because of the extremely low temperatures. They can't send kids out to their bus stops when it's that cold outside. It won't be getting any warmer or less slippery with the decreasing temperatures throughout the day. Frederick County Schools already have off on Friday, so it must be likely that Fairfax County Schools will have off as well, at least that's what I'm hoping.

Go ahead and give them Friday off. Any more snow days and the school year is extended into the Summer. Instead of school ending on a Friday it will end on a Monday now.

There's no question they are going to have to extend the school year now.

The last day of school is pointless anyway. It's usually a half-day and nobody goes anyway.

Yes, many of my fellow parents cant control their own children so they dont want them home. They expect them all to get As because they "feel" they deserve them and will bully teachers and principals to change the grade. When I hear people complain that kids had to be home, I am reminded how schools are just babysitting services for these parents. Then the idiot taxpayers who dont want to contribute taxes to schools chime in. Oh yeah...lets not fund schools even after YOU took advantage of this. Apparently, FCPS just announced a while ago that we only have a two hour delay. It is possible that they change it if it's too severe in the morning but it's a poor chance.
