It gives me great pleasure to announce that Dr. Scott Poole currently principal at Lanier Middle School, has been selected to serve as the principal of Woodson High School, effective April 13, 2015. Dr. Poole brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the principalship. In his 23 years of experience in Fairfax County Public Schools Dr. Poole has served in many roles that include principal at Lanier Middle School, Assistant Principal at Centreville High School and Social Studies Teacher and Department Chair at Langley High School and Cooper Middle School. He is currently the President of the Middle School Principals Association and is also an Adjunct Professor for Instruction and Administrative Leadership at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Poole is a student centered instructional leader with a proven track record of success as principal. He believes in collaboration, continuous job embedded staff development, the utilization of best practice research and developing and nurturing a school culture that makes each student’s academic, social and emotional growth its highest priority. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College and completed his Masters of Education, Secondary School Social Studies from George Washington University. Dr. Poole received his PhD in Education Leadership and Public Administration from George Mason University. Early in his career he served as a Graduate Fellow for the U.S. House of Representatives where he focused on Early Childhood Development and monitoring pending education legislation.

Will he pay for parking tickets out of public funds too when the staff park illegally on campus?

The kids run Lanier Middle School. That place has been out of control for years.

I agree, he's a great guy.

In two years at Lanier, me and my buds forced several bus drivers to quit. We raised holy hell on the bus and the drivers would "write us up" and the school would do NOTHING at all. We laughed in their faces and eventually the bus driver would give up and quit, LOL.

Haters gonna hate. OP is likely the same Woodson parent who whines on FU about everything Woodson or Frost. Someone has to be in the bottom 50%, and you were chosen. No, make that, you earned it.

Regarding Dr. Poole, he received five reviews on Rate My Teacher while he was at Lanier. All five students rated him 5/5 in all areas.

OP never learned to spell "principal" and is now a Woodson parent? Your kids must laugh at you. For next time, remember that a principal can be your "pal" and you might get it correct.
