Rev. Al Sharpton is planning a national march on Washington next week following a grand jury decision not to indict a New York City police officer in the death of Eric Garner.
Sharpton said at a press conference Wednesday night at his National Action Network headquarters in Harlem that the march will take place on Saturday, Dec. 13.
“It’s time for a national march for a national crisis,” Sharpton said.

What Sharpton and the NAN need to also do is EDUCATE the community they lobby and supposedly support to respect and obey Law Enforcement Officers, Local Clergy, Teachers, Shop Owners and the community as a whole. Also use some for of common or uncommon sense and do not put yourself in a bad position, so not go roaming at night when you do not need to be out. Most of the situations do not occur when someone is on the way to or from their job!
They also need to educate the community about how the Judicial system works and what remedies may be available when they do not get the answers they way.
The problem is there are claims that justice is not served. I mean come on, the Grand Jury decided not to peruse charges in a number of these cases.
This crap keeps coming back to race over and over and over again. Then there are claims that the victims Civil Rights have been violated.
These police officers did not wake up and go to work with the intent to shot, kill or harm any people of color. It just seems that in these urban setting people continue to make bad decision after bad decision and end up putting the selves in bad situations.
But Sharpton and the NAN is not about solving the problem, it is about Sharpton trying to become something will never be, a true leader and a person that can change the culture of urban respect and behavior.
Lets see what happens on Dec 13th.

We should focus on the recent trend of police shooting unarmed individuals under some new protocol sanctioned by Internal Affairs:
If there's an infinitessimal chance that the officer could die, then he can take the decision to kill the individual.
Look at the little asian woman in Ashburn murdered by a Loudoun County deputy.
Look at the case of Culosi. Look at the case of John Geer.
None of those guys deserved to die, yet Internal Affairs gives the police a free pass. All those oficers are still working and getting paid by us taxpayers. And we do nothing about it, because we suck.
Also problematic is the militarization of local police forces. Think Barney Fife with an armored personnel vehicle and assault rifles.
Bringing Al Sharpton into the debate is like taking a giant dump on it. So, f--- all of you who think this is a race issue.
