the person I'm giving it to is a relative and she has a VA conceal handgun permit...

or must I buy it at the gunshop and make her go pick it up there?

I will ask a friend I know when is awake, but in the meantime, have you considered a gift certificate? Most gun stores have them.

Give it to her for Christmas. You can transfer the gun ownership at a dealer so it is in her name.

No law against it and also no requirement to register.

Just give it to her.

This changes if she is a resident of another state.

I see no legal problem with giving a Glock as a gift. That doesnt
fit the definition of "straw purchase". Fairfax County laws that
were on the books a few years ago thanks to Preemption laws. The
State of Virginia makes all the rules and local governments can no
longer pass their own ridiculous restrictions. For complete info,

You didnt mention a particular model Glock. Are you sure which kind
your relative would prefer? She is fortunate to have relatives
like you.

Of course not, the post was a troll post. People say "Glock" when they have zero knowledge of firearms.

No, giving someone a Glock is not legal.

However, giving them a Sig Sauer is not only legal, it is a darn good idea!

Then I guess that was a "troll" reply.

But giving someone both is not only legal, but tax-refundable and an even better idea!! :D

I kid, I kid..

On topic though, It's perfectly legal to 'transfer' to someone that is legally eligible (18+, no felony conviction, U.S. citizen) a firearm. Registration in Virginia is not required either, so don't have any worries about giving your friend the gun.

Also, has anybody else noticed at the local gun shops that they seem to not have any 9mm Glocks left? I've looked everywhere..Gilbert's out in Lorton, Virginia Arms in Manassas, and even Blue Ridge! They only have the non-9mm Glocks..are people buying these up because of the election, and the ammo being cheap (thus easier to stock up on)?
