Care to wager? They'll still control the House at the very least.

Besides, Democrats need to exorcise their internal demons for them to be able to mount a charge that would decimate the GOP.

He already left the Republican party. He was Secretary of the Navy under Reagan.

Serving in that capacity doesn't necessarily mean he was a Republican. Prior to running for office as a Democrat, Webb endorsed Democrats Chuck Robb in 1994 and Bob Kerry in 1992. He then went on to endorse George Allen against Chuck Robb in 2000. He then ran against Allen in 2006.

I suppose you can classify him as an independent or the type of person that puts his finger up in the air to see which way the wind is blowing.

Webb has an "A" rating from the NRA. If he wins the nomination what are we going to do?

Oh I remember in 2008 lots of liberal journalists were claiming that it was the death of the Republican Party, or at least for 50 years. In 2 years America was so sick of liberal policies that they took back the house. 4 years later the senate. And tonight, because he couldn't do it legally while Dems controlled both houses, Obama will push through his agenda.

I think the last round of losses should have made it clear to him the public doesn't want this.

The first time I remember hearing somebody declare the Republican party "dead" was in August of 74 when Nixon resigned. It's still here.

The work of government is to advance the INTERESTS of the people, not their assfuck OPINIONS. That's why the founders worked so hard to insulate the actors in their new government from the influences of the masses. The founders well understood how easily the rabble could be manipulated by silver-tongued demagogues and charlatans.

Bull. John Boehner has refused to allow a vote on the mutually agreed to immigration bill - which would probably pass - because he's terrified of the WingNuts in his own party.

Boehner wasn't in the picture under my reign.

He will lose the Democrats have already promised Hillery the job, just like how the Republicans told Mitt that he could have the nomination in 2012. She was a popular candidate in 1997, but now she is just an older political insider. Despite her problems though, I must admit that so far she has the best chance of winning

webb is a half baked, loose nut freak. So he might just make it.

FYI.... Hilary is age 67, Jim Webb is 68.

I am happy that Webb is considering a Presidential run. He was good to our veterans.
