As an active and contributing member of the Fairfax County Community, I wish to bring to the attention of the constituency a missing facet of Governor Mcauliffe's otherwise stellar agenda: a Fairfax County climate change risk assessment.

I've done preliminary research into the possible risks facing our county when climate change comes into full effect and they are very very grim. Without funding for a dedicated Fairfax County Climate Change Board (FFCCCB) which employs full-time dedicated scientists and land management experts - our county will be completely unprepared for the coming climate disasters!

Look at Rick Perry and his response to ebola - do you want that to be us when climate change strikes? How embarrassing!

Fairfax County could be the model county in this nation for climate change risk assessment and mitigation - lets do it!!!!

I am building a petition website for this cause - but am having technical difficulty at the moment - stay tuned and I will post a link to a petition to ask Governor McAuliffe to designate a Climate Change Board that will conduct a climate change risk assessment and provide direction as to how our beautiful county can prepare for the upcoming climate change events!

Hey OP:

Climate change will continue to affect everywhere and to ever worsening degrees. But a mere county -- even one as large as this one -- is not going to be able to marshal sufficient resources to manage what is a global problem. Local and regional actions will certainly be a part of an ever-broadening response, but the best we can do for now is stand by and be ready to join in and work on those efforts as they come along.

That would have increased the emission of greenhouse gases. We should probably try to be a little smarter than these reported Vikings.

I thought we are using ebola and the enterovirus to thin the population. Less people less greenhouse gases. Plus this cuts down on the resouces usage. Less people and more trees.

I have some friends who don't have jobs. Can they be part of this study? Or is it full of your friends and family already? Hopefully this study will lead to more detailed studies for specific concerns For instance, are we sure that FFC is using the right paving materials for the future climate change? I have some friends who need jobs studying different roads materials through out this great country. Perhaps even a local test program with continuous (during business hours) monitoring. The possibilities are endless.
