Report: RGIII bragged to teammates he could influence Redskins owner Daniel Snyder
Posted by: Ludwig ()
Date: January 07, 2014 12:50PM

The Washington Redskins' season has been over for a few weeks, and they have turned the page on the Mike Shanahan ugliness.
But they still have Robert Griffin III and Daniel Snyder to deal with. Yes, deal with.

Snyder we've known about since the day he walked in and bought the team back in 1999. But Griffin, who was an NFL poster child for maturity and deference his rookie season, appears to have turned if recent reports are true.

The Washington Post's Sally Jenkins — and she's not one to get many stories wrong — wrote Tuesday that Griffin, among other things, was guilty of pointing fingers privately at his wide receivers and bragging to people around the team that he had Snyder wrapped around his finger.

The rift between Shanahan and Snyder very clearly centered around the way-too-cozy relationship between the quarterback and the owner, and that certainly led to Shanahan's ouster. (That and his missing the postseason three of four season and his possible mishandling of an injured Griffin, but eh, who is counting?)

This story is just another layer of disappointment over what has happened the last 12 months or so at Redskins Park, and as Jenkins points out, the new coach — perhaps one RGIII can influence Snyder to hire? — will be hamstrung even before he walks in the door, having to clean up the messes and repair the broken relationships of a 3-13 disaster season.

Oh, and no first-round pick this year, either. Good luck with that one.

I think he had a bigger influence on their 3-13 record.

Time for the Redskins to start shopping for a new Quarterback. One that has the capability and maturity to play at the professional level.

Can't a Jew like a black guy without a white guy getting jealous?

There is NO way that the Redskins can afford to bail on RGIII no matter how toxic he may be. The cost to acquire him - 3 1st round picks and a 2nd round pick - will NEVER be recovered and looking to Cousins as the solution is not an option. Best case is that the Redskins hire a coach like Mike Zimmer or Jay Gruden with a no-BS attitude and who can/will stand up to Snyder.

While Sally Jenkins' article may not be 100% factual, I think that there are enough sources to confirm the general theme and this alone should shut RGIII up for awhile. Given that you have not heard much from him since the last game of the season he likely has hired an experienced PR person to help manage/repair his image.

That is wishful thinking.

The problem is the Redskins cannot just "shop" and "buy" a new qaurterback.

They have to go through the NFL (National Foobtball Leaguge) lottery system.

Three years ago the Redskins traded many future top lottery picks for RG3 (Robert Griffin Third).

So the Redksins are no longer in a position to get a top quality quaterback (qb).

The Redskins cannot simply go to QB's-r-US and purchase a qauterback who is on sale.

The Redskins cannot go to Costco and buy qauterbacks (qbs) in bulk.

The Redskins have to comply with the National Footbal Leauge (nfl) lottery system.

It will be a long time before the Redskins can draft a high qaulity premium qauterback (qb).

The redskins cannot just shop and purchase a qauterback with a credit card and pay the bill later.

It just doesn't work that way.

You have to understand that the Redskins have to go through the nfl (national footbal leauge) lottery system.

The national footbal league (nfl) lottery system is not like the Virginia Lottery system. You can't just go to your local 7-11 and buy some lottery tickets.

You have to go to the NFL combine and watch players. You take notes on your spiral notebook that has a Redskins logo on it. You then write a prioritized list of what QBs (qauterbacks) look good to you.

So I hope you understand that you can't just go to Walmart and buy a quarterback (qb). It just doesn't work that way.

This also applies to other positions.

I think a bigger problem was Pierre Garcon spending all his time on his cellphone with Paisano's.

RGIII sucks and can't sut it in the league, seems like he does not have enough smarts to cut it...Simple brain can't get past looking after just one reciever and once the first guy is covered the play is blown.....best bet trade him for a second or third round pic while we still can get somthing for him..............RGIII is as good as Heath Schuler

They should get Tim Tebow and Johnny Manziel.

RG3 has Danny Boy wrapped around his little finger, and Danny's wife wrapped around some other, larger body part. Is that about it?

The pics of him in Hawaii with his wife show that he, like all niggers, loves fat white chicks. And she's a gold digger who'll swallow dark meat for the right price.

Well, if that's the case, then the Redskins are fucked for a very long time to come. Must suck to be a Skins fan in this day and age.

I loved this post. It reads almost like poetry...

Why not link the original source instead of a shitty Shutdown Corner blog post about the article?

Well, guess we might as well discuss the blog entry.

"Snyder we've known about since the day he walked in and bought the team in 1999"
what does that even mean?

The blogger didn't know Snyder existed until he bought the team. So what?
People have hated him because he was short and successful at a young age in 1999? So what.
I guess he's implying that people knew what kind of owner he would be all the way back when the papers were signed. I really dont think so. Not until he started firing long time workers in the redskins organization.

"The Washington Post's Sally Jenkins — and she's not one to get many stories wrong"
Is that a joke? What about her glorification of Lance Armstrong?

Are you kidding me? That bitch was Lance Armstrong's mouthpiece for years, shooting down all accusations of steroid use up until the day that he admitted it. She also did a softball interview of Joe Paterno, allowing him to deflect all responsibility for his locker room being used as a boy magnet without question.

She makes Mike Wise look good.

Another overpaid bust, the Redskins are famous for them.
