If you are talking about students from northern Virginia, it depends.

William & Mary is a smaller school and as a result accepts far fewer students, and like the University of Virginia it has limits on the number of NoVa students it will accept. However W&M is liberal arts focused which may not appeal to certain top students who are interested in more scientific studies. So while W&M may not accept as many kids as UVa, it also isn't going to be the school of choice for a number of top kids either.

If you've followed this for long you will probably know of kids who got accepted into W&M but not UVa, and you will know of kids who got into UVa but not into W&M. It is a bit of a crap shoot.

And while the coach is probably trolling, depending on your preferred area of study Virginia Tech might be the best school to go to.

UVA is the most prestigious school in the state. William and Mary has harder coursework, while UVA has more successful graduates. With in-state tution UVA is the best deal in the nation. Charlottesville is consistently ranked as one of the top niceset places to live in the country. UVA graduates are smug assholes for a reason- we are rich, smart, and happy.

The problem with Radford is that when you're NOT partying its boring as shit.

You'd think that with 2 fairly large universities (VT and Radford) next to each other that the area would be more interesting but its pretty dead.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure that UNC-CH is usually ranked as as the best value in the country. Or maybe it depends on the year.

And nowadays its all about your major, not necessarily the school.

For example: JMU Computer Science degree > UVA Sociology degree.

Yes. To be in the top 10-15% of your high school in the Northern Virginia area requires a more competitive course schedule, high (stand out) GPA and SAT's.

I remember a tale that UVA and Va Tech played at a football game. The Va Tech engineers held up signs saying "We've Got Jobs We've Got Jobs". The UVA business school crowd shouted back "Working For Us, Working For Us".

Yes they do and UVA looks much better on an application than VT does. So you recommend people go to UVA for medical and law school as an undergrad?

Wrong, shit for brains! Anyone in an engineering field would put far more value in an engineering degree from Tech than from UVA. Tech is well known as one of the top engineering schools in the country, not all that far behind a very few elite schools. Go to Tech for engineering, comp sci, accounting, forestry, vet medicine, or architecture. Go elsewhere for English, music, communications, gender studies, race studies, history, other worthless bs majors.

" Go to Tech for...accounting...."

Before crowing too much about Tech's accounting program you may want to do some research. One test of the relative quality of a university's undergraduate accounting program is how well its students do on the CPA exam. Which Virginia school do you think had the highest pass rate? Here's a hint. It wasn't Tech.

Which of these colleges has a better ranked computer lab?

I hear it is important to study at a college that teaches computer classes.

Computers are becoming more and more used everyday.

Pretty soon all jobs will be utilizing some type of computer system, inuding trash collection.

I also here it is important to attend s college that serves healthy food in the dining halls. Just because mom isn't cooking for me no more doesn't mean I can't eat no broccoli !!!! Lol

Do any of these colleges have lights- out curfews? Sleep is important and I better go get some now.
