Officer grazed while directing traffic after Beltway crash
http://www.wusa9.com/story/traffic/2014/07/01/bethesda-beltway-crash-officer-grazed/11918893/

BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA9) -- A Montgomery County police officer was grazed while directing traffic after a crash on the outer loop of the Beltway Tuesday afternoon.

Maryland State Police and Montgomery County police were on the scene of the crash, which happened between Conn. Avenue and Georgia Avenue around 3:30.

Montgomery County Fire and EMS says they were evaluating several injuries although none appeared serious.

While directing traffic at the scene, a Montgomery County Officer was brushed by a car and nearly hit head-on.

Obviously stunned and noticeably upset, the officer demanded the driver get out of the car once it stopped.

The officer banged on the window and roof and pulled the door handle but the man remained in the car for nearly a minute before finally exiting.

After getting out of the car, the man began to walk to the rear of the vehicle when the officer, right next to him, appears to put his hands on the man.

That's when the man fell to the ground. It's not entirely clear whether he gets shoved, his feet get tangled up, a combination of the two or something else.

The officer was taken to Suburban hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, a 58-year-old Baltimore man, was arrested for suspicion of DUI after failing a field sobriety test, according to Montgomery County police.

He was also charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision.

Any allegations of misconduct after the officer was grazed will be investigated as part of the internal affairs process.

The officer is a 20 year veteran of the Montgomery County Police Department.

He's pretty pissed. I guess I would be too out there and it's 95+ degrees with the humidity in that hot uniform, then some ass rolls up and hits you.

What part of the Virginia-portion of the Beltway did this occur?

Well since the Beltway is one big road and part of it goes thru Fairfax county your point is moot.

Using that logic: if something happened on Route 50 in Sacramento, it'd be fair game on here because Route 50 extends to Fairfax. It either happened in Fairfax, or it didn't. Fucking retards want to make two Off-Topic sections.

I thought the headline referred to a cop grazing on glazed doughnuts while directing traffic...

Well there's this...

"Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting."

Also I can't even go to offtopic, due to too many naked pictures and stuff. I am so glad real stories are here in the other parts of FFU.

Shame on that police officer for grazing while he was supposed to be directing traffic! What does he think he is, a cow? Hope he gets the discipline he deserves!

If this happened in Fairfax County, the cop would have been justified in shooting the guy in his car. Ask me, I know.
