I hate people that try to run across rt 1 at the busiest time of the day. Damn pedestrians.

Would you prefer that they walk slowly across the street? They need to get from one side of the street to the other. It's not like there are tunnels under the road or pedestrian bridges over it that they can use.

I don't care if people cross Rt. 1, but how about using designated "crosswalks"? I've seen people walk/run/dodge traffic when a traffic light controlled crosswalk was 10 feet away.

When Guiliani became mayor of NYC, one of the first things he did was direct the police to enforce jay walking, resulting in noticeable improvements in traffic flow, reduced pedestrians getting hit by cars, and generall improved vehicular traffic. And established the concept that there would be an orderly society (somewhat).

Start ticketing drivers who run yellow/red lights and ticket jay walkers.
