Who watched that 20/20 special on Westfield's theatre program on ABC last night? Man, that was TERRIBLE. All of those kids were so gay. That made our school look even worse. Why would they put that on prime time national television!?

Did the director make the cast shoot up before they went on, so they wouldn't have the shakes for the big finale?

That show really pissed me off! They said that WHS was a "mostly white school." WTF? It's like 50% minorites!! And they said that they picked a black Dorothy on purpose!!!! THAT'S RACIST! We just elected a black man as President!! WTF do we still need afirmative action for??? IT'S AFIRMATIVE RACIST, THAT'S WHAT IT IS! That whole theatre program is racist towards whites.

When, in reality, you are a bunch of spoiled white kids doped up on heroin, surrounded by minorities, including Koreans and Blacks, that are mad at each other.

I loved the part where the director is like you are more african than american, which sets off a whole racist argument thing

I think it was that Claire girl who said her family was from Africa. She was kind of a snot. Glad she wasn't the white black Dorothy, even if she was from Africa.

I watched the show. It did appear to have a fantasy land type appeal; nice theater, rich houses, no school work, all fun and games etc... It did appear that some of the male kids were gay. Drama classes is a place that I might expect gay people would be.

The show started out nice, but two hours was way to much. I did feel the teacher picking out people for roles based on being "African" was a bit racist. Did the roles really require a "black person?"

It was interesting that at the end they only said what three or four of the students are doing now. I suspect the rest of the cast probably didn't get awards and are not going to Ivy league schools.

As for the school looking freaky, I just chalked it up to a bunch of high school drama class kids. The drama and band kids at my high school were all a little strange. Then again so were the burn outs... LOL

That was definitely racist. There is not reason why they had to pick black people for the roles.
And those kids are definitely gay.

Graduated from heroin addict to junkie, maybe. Everyone knows the best place to get horse is from the cast of Westfields "The Wiz."

If they're going to be good actors or singers they need to start on the drugs early. Singers and Rock roll stars should concentate on the alcohol and heroine route. Actors should concentrate on the pills and weed route.

"The Wiz" as performed was great. There was lots of talent, a lot of great singing. Some of the choices made by our director were not great. Some of the individual cast members made mistakes on camera - but they're supposed to be perfect so that's unacceptable, of course. And ABC took four months of footage so they could portray some kind of drama, when in reality, the overall experience was positive. I do wish they'd focused more on the department as a whole, or on the actual work that goes into making a show. But hey, it's entertainment.

I wish ABC would have focused on Westfields's drug problem, especially the rampant and widespread heroin use.

Did they mention Cho Seung Hui at all?
