Virginia Senate passes budget, GOP House of Delegates threatens Virginia state government shut down
Posted by: Gerrymanderer2 ()

The Senate has passed a balanced budget that is in every respect and analysis in the best possible interests of the state. Republicans are bucking bringing back federal funds to help Virginia's uninsured, hospitals and to bring down high premiums for everyone else.

If the Republican House does not act by July 1st, we will have a state government shut down affecting a wide range government services. This delay in passing a budget is already having a negative impact.

The House of Delegates passed a budget a couple of weeks ago. McAuliffe said last year that he would shut the government down if he doesn't get Medicaid expansion. So who's shutting the government down? Sheeple

The Democrats have the facts on their side, Virginians also dislike government shut downs by Republicans.

This is a battle the Republicans will lose.

Do they like government shutdowns by Democrats? Since the republicans have video of McAuliffe saying he's willing to shut the government down if he doesn't get his way, the Republicans are in a much stronger position than normal. Plus, the Senate bill passed on a party line vote. Don't know how bipartisan the House budget was, but it got 75 votes and the Republicans only have 65 seats so it must have gotten about a third of the Democrat vote.

I doubt you even know what "facts" you think the Democrats have on their side.

The only thing you just said is Democrats are more reasonable then Republicans, we all know that.

This Governor ran on this and so did Ken Cuccinelli. Republicans from gerrymandered districts have no respect for the will of the people. It's also whats right for Virginia and its budget.

The Democrats have facts on their side. Virginian's want to bring their federal tax dollars back to our state rather than paying for the health care of Arizonan's and Kentuckians so the GOP can play politics with peoples health and premiums.

Gerry - what facts?? facts about what?? I don't see any sources to back up these 'facts."

Fact: there isn't a majority of Virginians that want the medicaid expansion:

http://www.humanevents.com/2014/03/19/poll-even-va-democrats-think-medicaid-expansion-will-boost-their-health-care-costs/

Fact: VA House of Reps do not accept McAuliffe budget because they do not trust the Federal government to adhere to their commitment to fund VA's Medicaid program - AND it gives McAuliffe the power to move funds "to and from" the state Medicaid account....Quote from Left-leaning Poltifact:

"McAuliffe invited some concern by submitting a budget amendment that can be interpreted as giving him authority to transfer money in and out of Medicaid from other state programs. The governor disputes that the provision gives him such power. In any case, "can" does not mean "will." "

You know it's a Left-leaning publication by stating "can be interpreted as giving him authority"......

Translated: It does give him authority....

My point: Considering the utter disaster that was the Federal government's rollout of ACA - and how the ACA has been changed 38 times since rollout:

Wouldn't one consider the Virginia GOP's objection to trusting the Feds to fund this expansion of welfare in the fiscal interest of citizens of Virginia????? ESPECIALLY in light of how the VA Senate's budget giving the governor the authority to reallocate funds for said expansion????

Why not wait a year or two before expanding Medicaid??? People who need medical attention and can't afford it will receive medical services...Virginia isn't like DC - we don't let people die on the streets....

Politfact link:

Gerry you're an idiot - you literally are a bullhorn for whatever the Dems tell you to spout - start thinking for yourself (and please don't vote)...

btw - it's just ridiculous statement to say Democrats have facts on their side....Smart dems know to never bring up facts: the dem playbook is to incite public unrest by giving people a reason to blame their problems on others:

1) Income inequality (http://www.politico.com/story/2014/01/democrats-income-inequality-2014-101748.html)

2) Racial discrimination (http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2014/04/09/3424765/housing-discrimination-middle-men/)

3) Gender inequality (http://www.theroot.com/articles/politics/2014/04/obama_s_executive_orders_address_racial_and_gender_inequality.html)

forgot Dem playbook strategy #4: Character assassination:

racist
KKK
Tea Bagger
Conserva-tard
redneck
etc
etc
etc

but yeah Gerry - be a good Dem and don't bring up facts (hint: it never works for your argument)

#5 Election time strategy: Voter ID discrimination

Obama at Al Sharpton's turf today: "At Al Sharpton summit, Obama warns right to vote in US faces biggest threat in half a century"

Funny - the NAACP hosted a voter ID protest rally and a photo ID was required to participate:

Agreed. Gerry is all for big government and for the government to grow even bigger. But everyone needs to keep in mind, Gerry doesn't earn an income like many *real* people in Northern Virginia. His meager income (in the 4-digit range) - and far below the poverty level of $15,730 - the level of poverty for a 2-person household.

Given his living situation, he loves to spend your tax dollars. I'll irresponsible. He shoots his mouth off like a loaded gun. He hates Jews. He hates Republicans and most of all, he hates himself the most.

What happened to your boy Cuccinelli? He ran against medicaid expansion you know. The Democrats won every statewide office and then kept the Senate after leaving multiple vacancies.

The voters of Virginia just told you to go fuck yourself in a Republican year the likes of which hasn't occurred in 36 years.

I have already covered the fact that Medicaid expansion can easily be retracted in the event federal funding does not persist. Which is stupid because there's no reason it won't.

Because of Republicams we're simply not taking our federal tax dollars back so people don't get insured under "Obama Care," thats how petty these Republicans have become.

What do you mean "we're simply not taking our federal tax dollars back" ???

Do you actually think in Janet Yellen's office there's 50 pots of money with each state's name on it....and McAuliffe just wants to go in there and retrieve it??

Do you actually think there's ANY money at the Fed??? With all the debt our nation is in????

What money are you talking about???

If there is a pot of money with Virgnia's name on it - it's in China.....
