Even the capital weather gang.

Most said 2-6 in the immediate DC area.

We got 10" in West Falls Church.

Too many school districts administrators went to bed doing nothing following the Capital Weather Gang's 1-3" underestimate. NWS always said 6-8" for Fairfax Co. TWC forecast 5-8".

Why are administrators giving creedence to those "wanna be" clowns at the Post? They've been more wrong with their forecasts than the NWS has been all winter.

Hey, gumball-brain. The media take their info from the National Weather Service whose forecast was on the money as usual. By the way, you might need a new ruler. West Falls Church got 8-9 inches of total accumulation. Nowhere in Fairax got 10 inches.

Hey, penny worth of thought..

The tv weather observers come up with their own predictions based on the Penny Candy Wrote:

models. they deserve a ton of blame. Watch any forecast and you'll realize that. that's why they're all apologizing now.

Even the Federal gov was open for 3/17 as noted after midnight last night. But, they changed it when they realized the weather observers were dead wrong.

We got 10" here. You got less. Consider yourself lucky.

NWS service forecasted 6-8" consistently and at times it had 8-10" for Southern and Western Fairfax. Only CWG and the local TV boobs forcasted less. Now CWG is making excuses for their gross underestimate. CWG is amateur hour but too many are following those clowns over the NWS, including school administrators.

Weather.com had the accumulation right at 5-10 inches.

NWS and the Weather Channel were the most accurate although they underestimated accumulations N&W and were too high to the south. Local TV boobs were off but the Capital Weather Gang forecast, as usual, was just incredibly bad.

I would be surprised if we had 5 inches at my house. Seemed like less when I shoveled it. Street was bare pavement when I left at 7:00 this morning.

You have to watch that Doug Kammerer guy, he just tries to scare the crap out of everyone. Some of his trademark phrases are, the coldest air of the season, life threatening cold.
He doesn't use the actual temperature much, it's always the wind chill temp.
I like when he talks about the winds, he will say 20 30 40 50 mph winds, damn Doug, can't you narrow it down some.
