Flippin Pizza is good. Really good dough and crust. Is it a chain?

Valentinos near Landmark is great but Alexandria not Fairfax.

Havabite Eatery is exceptional.

Mama Lucia at Fair City mall, not sure if its part of other ML restaurants in MD, but that place hits the spot too.

Agreed. The best pizza in the entire metro area is Big Joes in Manassas.

The Dumpster Dive Inn ofers good pizza at very low prices. Locations are behind about half the strip malls in the area.

Pizza is a personal thing. Everyone's tastes are his or her own. But when you add a lot of people's ideas up and average them out, the top pizza places in the area are Pazzo Pomodoro near the Fresh Market in Vienna (Neapolitan style) and Church Street Pizza by the bike trail in Vienna (New York style). I wouldn't disagree with either of those as the Top Two, but for New York style, I personally like Santini's in Oakton just as well, And they have so many scrumptious sandwiches to go with the pizza. Efi, the Godfather, a New Yorker with sauerkraut, deep-fried Coney dogs with everything. They're OMG-Delicious!

If you are talking about Valentinos on Beauregard Street a block north of Little River Turn Pike...that is in Fairfax County. Just barely.

Agree with you on Pazzo Pomodoro. Used to drive over to 2 Amy's for true and top-notch Neapolitan pizza. There are now a few other places in the District as well, but it sure is nice to have one close by in Vienna. Pazzo's pies may not be quite as good as what Amy's turns out, but they are pretty close. And of course, pizza is not even the main deal at Pazzo. They do a whole and ever-evolving universe of honest home-style Italian cooking, and it's all great. In fact, the worst thing about Pazzo is that it's so good that tons of people try to go there every night. It can take a while to get a table.

I really love King's Pizza off Jermantown. All their food is really good and reasonably priced.

"off Jermantown" would have been better put as "at the far end of Jermantown where it meets Lee Highway sort of across the street from WalMart." Never tried it, but maybe I'll get some carry-out next time I head to wegman's.

Pizza-Rama in Warrenton.

New York style, really good. A Medium with 3 toppings will run you less than $15.

I vote Pupatella. We know one of the owners and it is Neapolitan pizza with a pizza oven. We lived 3 years in Naples and these folks are from there so it is very authentic.

Valentino's is good too but way too expensive.

The Lost Dog (they only offer carry-out) has the best white pizza I've ever had.

Piola in Rosslyn is bangin'. Brazilian twist on pizza. I recommend the Rio de Janeiro with catupiry cheese.

619 raters on Yelp are not all owners of Pupatella. 324 of them gave the place 5 stars. 200 more gave it 4 stars. Obviously, a lot of people really like it there. Your opinion meanwhile does't mean jack.

Go by Pupatella's any lunch or dinner time and you'll see there isnt enough seating for all the folks that love authentic Italian pizza. But you are entitled to you opinion.

They took over the space next door, which had been something like a Halal Market, and they still do not have enough space for the crowds at peak times. If you want good Neopolitan-style pizza, this is the place!

Exactly. I've seen people become angry if you don't think their favorite
pizza restaurant isn't the best in the world. I personally like Ledo's
but my wife doesn't. Honestly though, the best pizza I've ever had was
by the slice and off a food truck that made the rounds on Ft. Gordon,
Georgia while I was in the Army.

easy real quick

do NOT take time to measure anything you'll just wreck it

get yeast bag, warm water and suguar. let yeast grow 15 min don't kill it you can see it grow easily. depends on how much rise you like you can get away without it or w/a little baking powder if pancake desperate

mix four water no so tacky you can't need it into a ball, cover with oil

USE ROMA TOMATO products only. crappy bloated tomatoes will *ruin* it

don't use crappy preshredded cheese if you can avoid it

your done man that was all !

done before you started practically !

You have to get there before 5pm for dinner. The place gets overrun by parents with their brats on Friday nights.
