Hello, I was if wondering if anyone here eats at Arthur Treacher's on Lee Highway in Fairfax. I was recently told by a friend that they have new menu boards with higher prices. Ridiculous! Can anyone tell me if Long John Silver's is a better place for fast seafood? Any replies thanx.
I love their fish - much better than LJS. I know this AT recently started accepting credit cards, so maybe they are trying to upgrade - the building is kind of a dump.
I'm surprised Arthur Treacher's is still open; but as ghetto as it is, their fish and chips are absolutely classic. Hushpuppies are awesome, too. The place looks like it hasn't changed since 1978, though, and you have to wonder how they make any money —they certainly don't seem to attract the crowds...
I was just talking about Arthur Treacher's the other day with someone. Is the one on Lee Hwy still open? All the ones around me ended up closing. They had great fish, and cheap too.
I never really ate at Long John Silvers, but I remember Chesapeake Bay Seafood House...good stuff, the buffet was ridiculous!
my dad and i have gone there quite a few times in the past few years in a pinch when we are looking for something out of the norm.
if you like fish n chips (which i love) they really are great. it's fast food and the buildling itself is just old as hell, but there's something really cool about it and the food is very good - certainly better than LJS (gross).
I'm going to break from the norm and say that ljs is better...HOWEVER - if you want the best fish and chips ever, go to irelands four provinces in fals church on rooute 7. itsa classic irish pub place with great food and all the drunk irish you can handle
Brick House seafood restaurant in Anacostia has the best deep fried brown trout on a stick. Get it with the ghetto fries and some vinegar. Ask for the purple drank, it's not on the menu.
Hey now, "da wharf", didn't you know that calling the DC Metro area "The DMV" makes you a hipster, a transplant, or worse? For shame. *makes shaming gesture*

The DMV? Don't you have to take a number, then sit and wait to be told what window to go to? And they don't have very many tables. I do all my DMV business online.
