Event for Parents of Children with Disabilities at The George Washington University

Join award-winning author Anne Ford and NCLD Chairman Emerita on Tuesday December 10 2013, at the Duques Hall at George Washington University for a discussion on her three books:

Laughing Allegra: The Inspiring Story of a Mother’s Struggle and Triumph Raising a Daughter With Learning Disabilities
On Their Own: Creating an Independent Future for Your Adult Child With LD and ADHD
A Special Mother: Getting Through the Early Days of a Child’s Diagnosis of LD and Related Disorders

Written with John-Richard Thompson, these books examine the challenges faced by children with learning disabilities and their families. From a compelling memoir to two indispensable guides for all stages, they offer invaluable insight and perspective for families and friends.

Please note that faculty from the George Washington University to answer any questions about identification, assessments, the special education process and special education policy.

There will be an opportunity for Q&A and to buy a signed copy of the books.
