Bank robbery in Franklin Farms?
Posted by: CuriousChantillian ()

Just received a call from my fiance telling me to lock all the doors that it looks like there'd been a robbery at the BB&T in Franklin Farms. Considering that Fairfax 1 (the police helicopter) has been circiling above my house for what seems like an hour now & the number of cops in the shopping center. I'm thinking this is true. Anyone know what's up?

The parking lot is full of cops, and there is yellow tape across the whole front of the building. Overheard a guy in another store in the shopping center say it was robbed.

That shopping center gets robbed all the time. Somebody robbed it before at the same time. I guess next we should expect the Shell station to get robbed again.

Gymnastics Khaki Pants Robber linked to local BB&T robberies.

Bank Robbery in the Herndon Area
A 23-year-old woman, employed as a teller at the BB&T Bank located at 13360 Franklin Farm Road was robbed at gunpoint. On Wednesday, December 10 at around 5 p.m. a man vaulted the counter displaying a handgun. He confronted the teller and announced a robbery. An undisclosed amount of money was handed over and the suspect fled. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as having light skin, possibly black or Hispanic. He was about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a stocky build. He was wearing a blue, hooded sweatshirt, khaki pants, white shoes and a black mask.

Detectives have linked this suspect with the bank robbery that occurred at the BB&T Bank located at 2513 Fox Mill Road in Reston on December 1.

They even catch a lot of the one-time guys, but every time you do it you are only increasing the odds of getting caught.

Even if you're smart enough to rob a single bank only once, then disappear and not spend the money for a very long time, eventually something is going to pop up -- once that money gets spent, it's going to be traced back to the bank. Even though they generally don't "mark" the bills (at least not 20 years ago when I was a teller) the majority of the money in a teller's till is sequentially numbered money received via Wells Fargo from the nearest Federal Reserve Bank, so they have a good idea what serial numbers a bank robber is in possession of.

Though I wonder if having mob or drug cartel connections could help to launder the money and increase your odds of never getting caught??

is that the guy? I saw him getting arrested today in front of the bb&t. I was hoping he would get away and run into the street so I could speed up and smash into him with my suv.

PS: anyone hear gunshots in franklin farms last night? Probably fireworks, but I just moved to the area from dc, and thought i heard the familiar sound of gunshots in the distance..made me nostalgic for the gunshot lullabies of NE DC. Bank robberies and gunshots in the night. Franklin farms in dangerous!

Suspect Apprehended During Bank Robbery

Fair Oaks Police District - Two men inside a bank during an armed robbery disarmed the gunman and held him until police arrived. The two men sustained minor injuries during the scuffle with the gunman.
The 23-year-old victim was transported to Inova Fair Oaks Hospital and the 42-year-old victim was treated at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Looks like FCPD has removed the press release. Awe.... they are a little embarrassed that a bunch of citizens tackled the gunman before they could catch him.

Says they grabbed the gunman and disarmed him. Looked like the gunman put up a good fight one of the guys had to go to the emergency room.

The FCPD spokeswoman said they do not need help. OK, then why did the FCPD catch him before now.

you're not far off, I believe the shopping centre the bb&t is in has been robbed a bunch of times. 2 hits at the gas station, 3 at the bb&t, and I think one of the other banks there got hit not too long ago. whacked.

FCPD doesn't encourage what the 2 guys did, but once the cops showed up before the robber finished there is a big chance the robber would have paniced and the situation could have turned into a hostage situation. If i see an opportunity I ll take it. It seems to me as if one of the guys jumped in and the other felt like he had to help.

I'm guessing the only reason they say that is for liability reasons. If they were to say they want people to do that, and someone gets killed, the family would go "oh, well the fcpd said they wanted people to intervene. IMMA GONNA SUE!"

or DONUTS DONUTS DONUTS

There are only about 3 good reasons to use windows Vista. anyone who doesnt use it for gaming or graphics, and who doesnt have good hardware, is a dumbass. Smart people have stayed with XP becuase it works well, and may consider upgrading to 7 if it works as anticipated. Fortunatley all the dumbasses who bought Vista can use their keys on 7.

Police found the bank robbery suspects getaway driver nearby. She admitted to robbing the other eight banks.

Pair Charged in Robbery

A Centreville man who was captured by two people during a robbery attempt at a Herndon bank Wednesday morning has been charged in the holdup, and a woman who was allegedly his getaway driver told police that she and the man committed eight other robberies in western Fairfax County in recent months, according to court documents.

A masked and armed man entered the BB&T Bank branch at 13300 Franklin Farm Rd., showed his gun and announced a robbery, county police said. While he was collecting the cash, police said, a man began struggling with him, then a second man jumped in, and they held the gunman down until police arrived.

Marlon Negassa, 37, of the 14500 block of Golden Oak Road was charged with robbery, using a gun in a felony, malicious wounding and abduction.

Zoghanno Holmes, 50, was arrested nearby. According to a search warrant affidavit, Holmes "implicated herself and her boyfriend," Negassa, in the previous eight robberies. She was charged with one count of robbery, and police are investigating the couple's involvement in the other holdups, Officer Tawny Wright said.

The robbers live in Fairfax County- 66Rt and 29Rt -

Apparently Zoghanno A. Holmes is from Liberia. She, at one time, worked for United Airlines. Her e-mail is missieholmes@hotmail.com although I do not think she has Internet access at the ADC. She used the telephone number 703.869.0104 when her address was 2330 Freetown Court, Apt 12 C Reston VA 20191.

The guy is much younger. She likely made a bad choice getting involved with him.
