Toronto mayor to appear on D.C. sports radio show

WASHINGTON -- Embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford will make a weekly appearance on "The Sports Junkies," a Washington-based radio show.

WJFK-FM announced Wednesday that Ford will call into the show to pick NFL games and talk sports. His appearances are tentatively scheduled for Thursdays at 8:40 a.m.

Ford acknowledged last month that he smoked crack cocaine "probably a year ago" when he was in a "drunken stupor." That admission, his acknowledgment of frequent binge drinking and a series of outbursts led the city council to strip Ford of most of his powers. His office budget was slashed and his staff was allowed to join the deputy mayor.

Ford has refused to step down and denies he has a problem with alcohol, although he says he's quit drinking.

They have been sucking themselves off all week once they found out Ford was coming on. Their egos will be through the fucking roof now. Apparently it is getting play in CNN, Today Show, etc.

I fucking hate these douches now. I used to really like them when they first started. Their egos are out of control now. All they do is brag about the free shit they mooch from listeners. I am actually embarrassed for them when I hear this shit.

Very good interview. They asked some tough questions, but mostly talked football and gambling. Ford came off as a pretty interesting guy who is really into NFL. This interview is getting play all over the place. BIg win for the Junks.

This morning they spent 5 minutes going on about how they got hooked by the Hugo Boss store on a bunch of merchandise. This is after Lurch is flown in on the Borgada private plane. Yeh, just a bunch of regular guys.

If I was a guest in demand, or even better a PR agent, I wouldnt ever consider going on the show. I listen, almost daily, and consider myself a fan but they are so fucking transparent with thier trying to catch people saying shit they shouldnt routine. Like Lurch and his stupid fucking comment about women and football in this interview.

Its only made worse by those fucking midday hacks and them trying to get the ball rolling on a complete nonstory. Fuck those guys, especially Holdens dumbass.

It isnt a two way street with these guys, where both sides try to boost each other up, and watch out for each other. These guys will happily blow 2 months worth of regular appearances out the window for one 3 second sound clip they think might be able to go viral.

ok? your point? They're exploiting what they can for their own good. The same reason we all go to our jobs every day, which probably suck more than theirs. Of course they want somebody to say something they shouldn't on their show. People clamor over that shit.

Going on the show was an awful move for Rob Ford, which is why they were fucking floored when he agreed to do it in the first place. If the interview had gone without incident (which it almost did) people would be on here asking why they'd even book Rob if they weren't going to instigate to some degree. I do think someone from the show started this thread, those guys know better than anybody that any publicity is good publicity.
