From their website, it appears they have about 450 people committed to showing up. Not quite at a million just yet but they have 6 more days to recruit.

Considering that only 0.8% of the poplation is muslim and the ENTIRE Baltimore-Washington area has just under 10 million people, there aren't more than 80k muslims in this entire region. Of the 450, I bet 15 will actually show up. Why does this even make the headlines.....

It makes headlines because right-wing sites such as Breitbart are notorious for pandering to haters and racists. The worst elements of society are the right-wing's bread and butter. In the entire country, there are only about 2½ million Muslims, so one million will bviously not be coming to Wasjington next week, but it is quite true that the rights of Muslims have frequently been diminished and trampled upon since 9/11,

There is an unfortunately long list of things that Bush was. still is, and always will be responsible for because he actually did them. The words "miserable failure" are no less apt today in describing his Presidency than they ever were. It was eight years of error, and we will be deacdes in paying for them.

Over most of its history, the nation has also fallen well short of its own standards with regard to racial, religious, and ethnic hatred and mistreatment. Native Americans, Chinese, Jews, the Irish, southern Europeans, And let's not forget about 400 years of slavery and black oppression the way our Governor does, and we probably need sidenotes of some sort to cover the situatons of women, gays, and atheists. Lately of course, the misfits and low-lifes have added people they call Arabs and Muslims to their lists of people to hate. Hey Realist, surprise, lots of Muslims hate you too. In fact, according to the Pew survey of beliefs and attitudes of Muslims worldwide (hardly a right-wing source), somewhere on the order of several hundred million believe that it's cool to kill innocents like you in the name of defending Islam.

This dumb march idea wasn't started by the groups which you want to blame. It is designed to be intentionally inflammatory by a group of 'haters' on that side. While not a muslim myself it is true that their rights are infringed on. The fact is the majority of Muslims are not like the few extremists. I know a few Muslims and some of them are the kindest people I know.
