Search for man in Potomac resumes Tuesday
http://www.wtop.com/41/3439882/Search-for-man-in-Potomac-to-resume-Tuesday

WASHINGTON - A search that started Monday night on the Potomac River near Great Falls was expected to resume Tuesday after the man authorities were looking for had not been found.

Friends say sometime before 8 p.m., the 24-year-old went under after wading out too far into the river. Witnesses say he struggled against the water as he was pulled downstream.

Assistant Chief Scott Graham, a spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service who is working with Fairfax County, tells WTOP rescue workers were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. The man they have been searching for is black, wore khaki pants and no shirt.

By 10 p.m., the search was called off for the night. Rescuers would resume the search at 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to Graham.

Three people have drowned in the Great Falls area of the Potomac River this summer, including an experienced kayaker.

"It is very treacherous underneath," Graham says. "There are a lot of rocks, and the water is moving very quickly. It's a very dangerous river although it may look calm and peaceful and serene at its surface."

That water is some of the most lethal in North America, anyone going in there is a moron. Evan the Kayakers are taking their life in mother natures hands but at least they wear helmets and Life Vests. This guy who went missing is a classic example of what not to do....EPIC FAIL BRO!!!

To Minority Report....you racist pig. Just because Mark was black, does not mean he was a thug.

To all of you who think the death of a person is so funny, society would be a much better place if it were you instead of Mark. Oh and by the way, I AM WHITE and not just sticking up for my "color" as most of you are thinking by now.

Mark was a respectable and responsible person. Has the thought ever occur to you that Mark may not have gone out into these waters on his own. He feared the water. Don't believe everything the so called "witnesses" are saying.

Mark was far from a thug and his death may be because he was trying to protect people from the real thugs out there.

You fear water and yet you're on the edge of the most dangerous section of river on the eastern seaboard?

Mark did not know anything about the river or how dangerous it is. Never been there before in his life. Unfortunately for Mark's family and friends, since he is black, officials will write him off as being inexperienced with the river and never look into the truth of what has really happened.

Swimming in that part of the river is prohibited. The real tragedy is that local taxpayers have to support a search and recover operation because this guy decided he didn't need to follow the rules.

WaPo did a story on that area recently...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/in-the-potomacs-grip-the-deceptively-placid-waters-at-great-falls/2013/08/10/2cd1f3c0-efd8-11e2-a1f9-ea873b7e0424_story.html

Basically you don't want to be anywhere near that part of the Potomac. Incidentally there are numerous signs along the shore of both the Maryland and Virginia sides that say not only that it's prohibited but that you can die.

But people always think they can just wade in the "calm shallow" part and everything will be OK.

Oxymoron if I ever heard one. Friend of Mark, how about you go wade in the river too?

The warning signs are in English and a dozen other languages, but not in Ebonics. That's racist! And now he's kilt because of it. You'll be hearing from Al Sharptongue on this!

It is a well-known fact that blacks are poor swimmers. It's either due to genetics or culture or some combination of both. Either way, many of them can not swim very well or at all.

I was a life guard at a resort many years ago. Whenever a black person or group would come to the pool we had to be extra vigilant. The vast overwhelming majority of drownings and rescues we had were always black people.

Not only was he black, he tried to swim the Potomac without a shark cage. The trip was doomed to fail from the outset.

Not to mention the overwhelming number of "Baby Ruth" accidents due to blacks.

Man still missing after Potomac River search
http://www.wtop.com/41/3441190/Man-still-missing-after-Potomac-River-search

POTOMAC, Md. (AP) -- A search for a man who disappeared on the Potomac River has been suspended.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service officials say the search for the man who went missing near the Great Falls overlook on Labor Day was suspended Tuesday evening.

Assistant Chief Scott Graham says the man in his 20s was on the Virginia side of the river when he began to struggle and went under. The search involving teams from Montgomery and Fairfax counties began Monday night but was suspended after a few hours. Searchers resumed work Tuesday, but suspended the search after seven hours. Graham says officials will reevaluate the situation on Wednesday.

The apparent drowning would be the fourth this summer in this part of the river.

I would, but I don't know which are my kids. Besides, I'm doing another 4 years in the pen for rape and robbery.

There are no details in that article. Where did they find the body? How did they find it? Did they hook him? Did he wash ashore?

Nicklow described Moore as giving and funny, and determined to improve his life for the good of their relationship and child. The pair met while working together at the McDonald's on Annapolis Road in Odenton.

"We just fell for each other," Nicklow said. "I loved him right away."

Rev. Derrick Young, Moore's uncle, said his nephew was known to get into trouble on occasion, but was excited about the changes in his life.

"He had just started getting his life together, working two jobs and things started clicking," Young said.
