I'm not going to say that Democrats are perfect. Some of them are capable of being just as tasteless.
Keep in mind that in 2009, even the Republicans had realized that they re-elected a complete idiot whos damaging legacy continues to this day. And unlike NASCAR, Baseball doesn't have a "clear majority demographic".
And consider that Michelle Obama and Jill Biden are NOT elected officials. They were both at the NASCAR even to promote a project to support military families.
As I recall, there was also some backlash within the Democrat party for the State of the Union booing, as there should have been.
