Crime Solvers Seeks Suspects in Series of Commercial Burglaries and Check Fraud Cases
Crime Solvers programs in Fairfax County, Prince William County and the City of Fairfax are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the persons responsible for a series of commercial burglaries and check fraud cases in their jurisdictions. Detectives believe a group of suspects are responsible for at least seven commercial burglaries since December 2012. The suspects steal business checks and/or property. Then they fraudulently issue themselves checks and attempt to cash them at local banks.

The following cases are believed to be related:

•December 28, 2012 – Business located in the 6500 block of Arlington Boulevard burglarized. A business check was successfully cashed for $2,500. (Fairfax County)
•December 28, 2012 – A business located in the 6500 block of Arlington Boulevard burglarized. Property stolen, no business checks (Fairfax County)
•December 28, 2012 – A business located in the 3500 block of Chain Bridge Road burglarized. Business checks were stolen. A failed attempt was made to cash one.(City of Fairfax)
•January 18, 2013 – Business in the 1300 block of Old Chain Bridge Road burglarized. A business check was successfully cashed for $3,200. (Fairfax County)
•January 31, 2013 – Business in the 8200 block of Boone Boulevard burglarized. Business checks and property stolen. A failed attempt was made to cash one. (Fairfax County)
•February 22, 2013 – Business in the 1800 block of Town Center Drive burglarized. Business checks were stolen. A failed attempt was made to cash one. (Fairfax County)
•February 23, 2013 – Business in the 1700 block of Reston Parkway (Fairfax County) had business check stolen. Failed attempt to cash it at a bank in Prince William County.

Detectives from the affected jurisdictions are working together to identify these suspects. Surveillance photos are being released in the hope that someone will recognize these individuals whom detectives believe are working together.

Anyone with information is asked to contact one of these Crime Solver programs by calling 1-866-411-TIPS(8477). Cash rewards of $100 to $1,000 will be paid by each of these jurisdictions if information provided leads to an arrest in each jurisdictions’ affected cases. In addition, tipsters may email tips securely by visiting www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org or text “TIP187” plus your tip to CRIMES(274637). As always, tipsters never have to give their names or appear in court.

Media are asked to contact each jurisdiction's Public Information Officer/Crime Solvers Coordinator if they have additional questions.

This was released yesterday and I’m shocked that Fox 5, ABC, NBC, and CBS local news didn’t jump all over it. With this many pictures it seems it would be easy for the police to get a lead and quick.
