Buying and Selliogn Handguns

A buddy wants to sell his Beretta 92FS. Is a FFL transfer a good idea? Can we just sign a bill of sale or is either at risk in the future doing it like that? With all the gun lovers here, I figured someone could tell me. What's a fair price?

If your buddy is a VA resident, he can sell it to another VA resident 21+ yoa without any paperwork or FFLs. A Bill of Sale is a great idea. Checking buyer's VA driver's license, CCW permit or voter's registration is also recommended. Naturally, a person who can vote or carry is not a felon. So you are abiding by all laws.

92FS can go for as low as $350 for a total POS or 800-900 for a rare model NIB. And anything in between. Post photo and stats of the gun and I can tell you a bit more.

Intra-state handgun transactions between idividuals are currently legal without a FFL holder's involvement. I would personally document the transaction including the firearm's serial number and have both sign parties sign and date the document.

I would never sell a gun to anyone I wasnt sure could legally own one. Ten or twenty years down the road if it is used in a crime the government will come after you saying you are an accesory and should have known better. Unless you are with the government and selling the gun to a Mexican gang member then its cool.

To much recoil? Not sexy enough? Broke? Guns are like women or boys. Once you buy you keep. Selling will come back to haunt you. Man up! Someone commits the crime but you will do the time. You bought it so grow up and deal with it.

You people are just completely douching this up. The OP, WHO IS THE BUYER, dumbasses, is not asking if he is legally able to own a firearm,

"Selliogn"??

Don't be buying any handgun until you learn to spell. You'd probably screw up the application...

What kind of crime is the OP looking to commit?

Why else would you need a handgun.

The only thing dumber is your response to an obvious drunk poster.

"Naturally, a person who can vote or carry is not a felon."

Don't make assumptions. I'm not sure how long it takes for the county to invalidate a CHP once someone is convicted of a felony but I doubt they come to your door and take the card back so anyone that once had a permit could still show it to you. If you check for an expiration date you may find the permit is expired but since you are so willing to assume that just because someone has a piece of paper they are not a felon I doubt you would bother.

92FS is a cool gun. Nice and heavy so there's no recoil. Also have 15 round mags available, but probably not right now.
