Mad Fox Brewery in Falls Church

Has anyone had the beer there? Also, are there any other places locally besides Sweetwater's and Dog Fish that brew their own beer?

It's not a bad joint if you're looking for a 30-something gastropub type place - beer is comparable to Sweetwater/Dogfish, I actually prefer it over Dogfish. You should give it a try, but be forewarned, the place gets pretty busy on the weekends.

I have eaten there. The beer is good/decent. The food is not as good.

They claim to make all their condiments, etc.. from scratch.

So far the only food I liked there was the fried pickles.

Mad Fox is a disgrace. Beer is comparable to what I made at home with my Mr. Beer kit - tastes like shit and yeast. Service is also shitty.. I asked the bar wench to describe this beer and she couldn't .. only compared it to "miller." I went one evening and they were out of almost everything too, man they suck and I hope they go out of business soon.

I go there all the time, primarily because it's the best beer in the area. Better than Dogfish and Sweetwater. The brewmaster is Bill Madden, respected in the brewing community. The food is pretty good - more hits than misses.

I agree the bar service is hit or miss. A couple of the bartenders are awesome. A couple others are atrocious.

Their Sunday Brunch Special - Chicken and Waffles are excellent. The Steak and Eggs blows anything else i've had for brunch ever out of the water - As do their house made donuts (glazed, chocolate frosted, and bacon gladed trio). Bloody Marys and Mimosas don't dissapoint either.
