FFX. Co. Pkwy Speed Trap - The Car in the Median was Legit!

I travel on the Parkway from Ox Road to Kingstowne virtually every day and at this point am used to seeing the FCPD park unmanned patrol cars in the median at various points along the Parkway to control speeders.

Today, one of them was actually manned. Was heading northbound before Rolling Rd. when the lights went on and the officer left the median and headed southbound after a speeder.

Be aware folks - the cars in the medians ARE being manned!

How is that a speed trap, posted limit. Then they put a car out there in the hopes that you would slow down. Now there's a cop out there writing tickets. How about we just not have speed limits anymore apparently no one can obey them. Or have an actual trap that folds the roadway in two and crushes your car. That would be a cool trap.

+1000^

A speed trap is when the posted speed limit drops without warning and the cops are waiting for you.

As far as I know, the entire FFX Co Pky is posted at 50 mph with numerous signs stating this. If you want to go 60-70 mph or more and you get a ticket, you weren't entrapped. You rolled the fucking dice and lost. Pay up, sucker!

Isn't it against highway safety laws to park vehicles on a highway?

Centreville had such a cruiser on the cement median when you are on Rt. 29 as you cross Rt. 28. For a few days, drivers were panicking and hitting the brakes when the saw the parked cruiser.

While I can understand the need to get drivers to slow down, it really isn't safe to have such a presence when the drivers hit the brakes suddenly and potentially cause an accident.

They should bring back those dummies in the cars and along side of the highway.

I'm pretty sure the OP said he was parked in the median.. not ON the highway. Besides, its a parkway, not a highway.

Go fuck yourself.

No one would be hitting their brakes if they're weren't breaking the law to begin with. I find it strange how many people have issues. When I see a cop, there are no changes in my driving habits and I just cruise right on by.

If you don't break the law, you have nothing to worry about.
