Did Senator Mark Warner Break His Promise on ObamaCare? Appears so....
Posted by: WingNut ()

I voted for Warner, he seemed like a sensible guy sensible guy as Governor, but these were his words on ObamaCare-

“I’m not going to support a healthcare reform plan that’s going to take away the healthcare you’ve got right now or a healthcare plan that you like.”

He can fix things by calling for a repeal of Obozocare or an expansion of the grandfather clause, but the second is probably unlikely as the first.

I rarely post about Virginia or Fairfax politics, but if he doesn't show some spine and some face, he really needs to go.

Agreed. As its now obvious that Obamacare is the worst program in government history, and that's saying something, if he doesn't change his views right away, good bye to Mark at the voting booth.

"As its now obvious that Obamacare is the worst program in government history"

Did Fox News tell you that???

The rollout has been botched, no doubt. But to say it is the "worst program in govt history" is just dumb.

Explain another rollout that's been worse.

For the record I don't watch Fox News, CNN, MSNBC.

Now bite on this one, I just went on healthcare.gov. Page is unavailable. Called the representative, to her credit she was a fairly nice person, but she couldn't compare prices or services to my current insurance. Instead I'd have to apply, and then wait for paperwork, then submit it, then be insured by it, but could drop it at any time.

Sound good?

Obamacare will be an albatross around the necks of all red and purple state democrats up for re/election in 2014. 7 million voters are expected to lose their current insurance in the next year and be forced to move to Obamacare, which is turning out to be more expensive (if you can even get into the web site to compare prices) for most folks (those making over $39K a year).

It makes me happy to know that Obama's crowning achievement will be used to put Harry Reid into the minority and screw whatever chances Hillary had.

Warner's going down. Sad, I voted for him once (governor). Hope Gerry Connolly takes a hit too and gets run out of office.

Wonder if Cuccinelli's rise in the polls is due to the complete failure that is Obamacare. He's stopped running against McAuliffe, he's been running against Obamacare almost exclusively for the past 10 days.

The typical Obama voter is too braindead to realize how big a failure Obamacare and Obama both are. Your typical lib is the kind of moron that would keep re-electing Dems no matter how corrupt or incompetent. Just look at Marion Barry, Detroit, Chicago, and every other place run into the ground by idiot Libs.

Haha what alternate universe do you live in? Do you smoke crack? Cooch numbers are still way down and there is a snowballs chance in hell that a state wide democrat in Virginia will lose, and theres no chance Connolly will lose.

Again, the Democrat/Left with their "sub-80 IQ folk" talk. Remember Nobel-prize-winning AlGore talking about the "extra chromosone crowd."

Hate, hate-speech, the "I hate Republicans and everything they stand for" politics of the left is just grating.

I talk to hardcore leftists. They're always angry. I listen to WPFW every day (except Sunday, because Jazz is just plain boring), and I hear how angry and hate-filled the Left really is.

America is the greatest country ever. Leftists be cwazy.

Yes, and they all still vote Republican. And the best of them is still but a trained damned seal spouting back the pure crap that the trainers pumped into them. You be one of those.

Here is Senator Warners position on ObamCare before it was enacted, seems pretty firm and unequivocal.

Let's see if he tries to weasel his way out of his statement.

Well, if you think that forcing citizens to comply with the government mandated health care or forcing them to lose thier own plan in order to accept an Obamao implemented plan isn't the biggest mess ever, you must be thinking of the Post Office, err, the DMV err...any other inept Gov't agency.

So I asked my brother this morning - a small business owner (2 employees) - if the Affordable Care Act was affecting his insurance. As I have been seeing on the news the answer was YES. BCBS set them a notice about a month ago that they were discontinuing his plan at the end of the year.

I quote from his text:

"Of course you know the hassle with the exchange which I've never been able to get past step 1 so I have an insurance brokerage company doing the research for us to try to find the best affordable plan."

"the government has 4 plans and they all have larger deductibles than what I had. The premiums might be lower on the economy plans but with the deductibles and co-pay they are not affordable."

Nothing political here - just the facts. They two of them make a very modest income and they are both going to be screwed by this ROYALLY.

He's been with BCBS for years, happy with the coverage, not really any consolation that the plan might in some universe by argued to be "better."

That's interesting as my brother who is self-employed was also dropped by Blue Cross. He had the same story. The most comparable plan to the one he has now is going to cost him 10K additional per year. And with a much higher deductible. I find it odd that no one seems to think this is any big deal. Do people think because you are self-employed you can afford to take these kind of hits?

Just a personal note from anecdotal experience- it seems a lot of liberals have a hostile and almost envious position toward anyone who does not have a boss to answer too.

Payroll peasantry is sanctified, while entrepreneurship and independence is treated with suspicion and skepticism.

There are lots who are morse than merely whining losers. There's the ignorant bigots and outright sociopaths to be on the lookout for as well. A veritable panoply of useless braindead social misfits.

Well argued. I don't see any whining on this thread. All I see pretty much dispassionate facts. You are correct though - the middle class losing their health insurance plans are in fact losers. Thanks to the Affordable Care Act.

Fact is, you keep trying to stir some obscure shitpot and nobody cares about it. That's okay. You just keep wallowing in the muck. Meanwhile I'll take comfort in the fact that Republicans will never win another national election. The only thing your GOP is good for is lashing out against progress to point that they can't even agree on anything among themselves.

The obscure shitpot refers to the subject line "Did Senator Mark Warner Break His Promise on ObamaCare? Appears so....". No one gives a shit what Mark Warner may have said about "ObamaCare". I am still singing the same tune. How about you, shitbag?
