question for Cary

Is it okay to post firearms for sale on this site? I've been a Fairfax County resident for 30 years and I'm aware of VA's state law (for now) on firearm sales within va to va residents only. Thank you for your time in advance.

ooh ooh let me be the first.....

Let me ask you this...
Do you see a for sale section here? Does this look like Ebay?

How many people have you seen trying to sell shit on here.. None!!>.

With questions like that I wonder, were you adjudicated to be mentally deficient?
Can you even legally own a gun?

Why don't you search before you ask a question like that.
This is better than the people looking for drugs on here.

In the mean time, I found this to be appropriate.

VA Law Abider... You'll probably have better luck getting in contact with Cary personally.

It actually might not be a bad idea for Cary to implement some sort of Craigslist-esque portion of the forum where local people advertise items for sale. That could generate more traffic and bring another purpose to this forum/site.

take a stand,

Are you Cary? I do believe the subject was "question for Cary". What in the hell made your dumb ass want to respond if you're not Cary? Are you that ignorant and bored with nothing else to do? I was asking a legitimate question dumb ass. If you can't answer my question, why post? How about this, just shut the fuck up, keep your simple shit to yourself and allow more edumacated people give some insight on my question. I can't stand dumb fucking people such as your self. Hope you don't breed!

Pbech,

Thank you for your response. I do believe that is a good idea also. I'll have to ask and see what kind of response I get from her. Hey, you never know until you ask, right? Thank you again and have a safe and happy thanksgiving.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to sell a firearm unless you are a licensed firearm salesperson, but I might be wrong.

I know it's definitely illegal to sell a firearm to someone that isn't allowed to otherwise own a firearm, so I'd be real sure about the background of the person you're selling to.

VA_aol_abider, lol, you posted it on a public forum. You should have private-messaged Cary if you wanted only him to see and answer it.

You are completely wrong.

Then I don't know, genious, why don't you post it for sale on here and see what happens? I'd recommend putting it in Off Topic, but if you're going to put it in the main forum, make sure you use a subject line like, "Would any Fairfax County residents like to buy my gun?"

I'm sure that everyone who contacts you will be completely forthcoming about their criminal background; either that, or you have a way of running a background check on them.

If bob2 isn't the OP, then OP, see my response above, but ignore all of the smarm. If you're going to get pissy about the fact that I'm responding and yet, am not Cary, then I recommend re-reading pgens's post above.

I'm not going to reread any posts, particularly yours, because they are useless. You do not know the rules, offer no new information and are admittedly not Cary: people get banned for spamming threads with incoherent babble, and yet you post a utterly useless response.

MrMephisto,

Thank you for your advice sir. I am the original poster and have read all the posts on here. I can assure you that I am not bob2 and I only got disrespectful with "take a stand" due to their ignorant post. However, FTF (face to face) firearm sales are legal in the state of VA. I am capapble of running a background check and always do so before selling a firearm. I was just curious to see if I was allowed to post it on here. I figured it to be a simple question but you can see some of the replies. Thank you for your time and input. I do believe I am done with this thread and will be contacting Cary directly for my inquiries. Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving.
