Baby dies in power outage

The Gauteng Health department said on Tuesday it was investigating the death of a baby during a power failure in Johannesburg's Coronation Hospital this month.

Department spokesperson Zanele Mngadi said the hospital's generator kicked in during the entire time the power was off, but failed to switch off after power was restored.

"The generator didn't switch off to enable normal power... there was a delay of about 20-30 minutes leading up to the incident," said Mngadi.

Earlier this month, a woman gave birth in a lift after she, the midwife and a porter got stuck in it.

According to the Democratic Alliance, more such incidents had been reported since the Gauteng department of public works cancelled its maintenance contract with the hospital in June this year.

Years ago, the power went out in San Francisco for a long time. Nine months later, there was a certain increase in birthrate. If you were born nine months aftert a power outage, you are a power outage baby.

I'm sick of bands finding perfect names for their music!

I thought your music was only meant for babies born during the power outage. Because the math works out that the power outage was 9 years ago and the average age of Power Outage Baby fans are 9 years old. So I concur, good name for your band.

But whats going to happen when your fan base grows up a little and moves on to Miley Cyrus?
