Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Let's talk about the Fairfax Circle Denny's. Why the sleazy atmosphere? It's not any cheaper than the IHOP up the street, yet the shit of the earth seem drawn to it like moths to a flame. Low income people of all ages and colors. People who look like alcoholics and heroin addicts who died 6 months ago. Weirdos sleeping in their cars in the parking lot. A constant stream of loiterers smoking near the front entrance. Some of the employees are work release from the jail. And this all occurs *before* midnight! Is the land it is built upon simply an "energy drain?" Come on, it's not even in the worst part of Fairfax. Enlighten us.
I have been to Denny's 2 times in my 25 years of existence. Within an hour of leaving, both times, I have thrown up / gotten food poisoning. From the Fairfax Denny's and from one in NC. Years apart. Denny's is fucking filthy.
Just forget about the place and go to IHOP instead. IHOP is 100x better.
Where is the Dennys at Fairfax circle? The only one I can find is at 29 and 123. Last time I went there some dude begged me for money in the parking lot. I got a steaktip and cheese omelette and it kicked ass.
The Ihop in Burke is like no one is in charge. Takes twenty minutes just to get a glass of water. The food was barely warm and undercooked, just awful. Add to it some bums hanging around out front.
Years ago, my brother and I went into a Denny's on the vegas strip at about 3 am, ended up having a fascinating discussion with a couple of hookers who were taking a breather. They were surprisingly cool and one was pretty hot, not that I would touch her with Eesh's dick. But I learned a good bit about the biz. Food was ok, but the coffee was a step below bootblack.

Mmmm Denny's is like the road trip treat for me. They're all over the place, yet not really every place. I don't get it often enough to get a dislike for it maybe?

I never got why it's called "Sambos". Little Black Sambo was an Indian (not Natve American type). The writer of the Sambo stories was raised in India. One would think you could get some Indian food there, and yet, not a chickpea is to be found.
