15 cops setting up cones restricting lanes right before the rolling road exit looks like A dui check point just a heads up

Thank you jojobaby, I am sure you saved someone from getting harassed by the police on that road. We need a central thread for speed traps/checkpoints on FFU.

One way to avoid being harassed is not to drive shitfaced hammered. Not a sermon, just a thought.

I don't drive shitfaced hammered. Why do they need to waste my time with a dui checkpoint.Considering they usually stop between 500 and 1000 drivers and arrest 2, it is a waste of time and money.

Because the same people that complain about going through them complain they dont do enough about drunk drivers. Plus the threat of them does stop some people from driving drunk it just doesnt catch many that are

You people act as if you get stopped by these things everytime they set one up. Suck it up for an extra 5 minutes and don't be a dick to them and you will be on your way just fine.

You are stopped from a peaceable journey if you have been drinking or not, guilty or not. Call that what you want.

"Papers please," perfect for the United States of America.

DUI checkpoints are nothing more then publicity stunts. That's why police departments across the US heavily publicize their checkpoints for maximum affect.

Every good officers knows that the minute they put up a checkpoint all the drunks in the nearby area will get cell calls or texts about where the checkpoint is and how to avoid it.

I already posted analysis of checkpoint results in another thread vs targeted enforcement. Checkpoints are a clear waste of resources, it is a PR and security theater event.

This is what I am talking about. Waste of resources, and more importantly, the driver's time.

The majority of the resources utilized at checkpoints are APO's, (volunteers) for setup/breakdown.

They set them up on main thoroughfares, and the delay is usually at least 20 minutes due to the huge backup. Why should I not resent being stopped on my travels for nearly half an hour, for the purpose of being inspected to see that I am not a criminal, even though there is no reasonable suspicion? I hate drunk drivers. I hate this fucking police state a lot more. And the fucking pigs that implement it for their political purposes. They should fucking die in horrible bloody revolution. First up against the fucking wall.

I used to be all pro-checkpoint (some thread lastyear) till someone on that thread schooled me on the numbers. And the facts are clear - the checkpoints dont do crap, really, except make ppl feel good.

Yes, a lotta voluteers help with the checkpoints. But you still have about about 5-10 traffic cops there who are NOT patrolling other areas looking for DUIS.

It's a foolish notion to think that you area catching more ppl by pulling all your resources in one spot instead of having them cruise around an area.
a
To all those who call cops "pigs" and sy they should die and all that crap. Fuck you. Because you wont help me when I need help. Those girls and boys you call "pigs" - they will help me and my children when I need help. So fuck you and the Cavalier you were conceived in.

I'd rather have 10 cops stuck in one spot all night than driving around patrolling.

I answered that argument, plus posted stats on their ineffectiveness in this thread:

Yay! Please stop my car for absolutely no fucking reason!

Why am I upset officer? Well because your making me fucking stop for no reason. Innocent before proven guilty? LoL Guilty before innocent.

Pig:Sir could you pull over your vehicle to the side of the road.

Me: Am I being detained?

Pig: We are conducting a DUI checkpoint. We need you to comply.

Me: Am I being detained? Should I call a lawyer. I have nothing to say to you unless my lawyer is present. If I'm being detained I will comply with your orders. If not, let me on my way.

Pig: Sir...

Me: Ok Im going to call my lawyer.

Pig: Dont let me catch you around here. I will come after you.

Me: Ok. Am I being arrested? Should I call my lawyer.

Pig: Keep it moving.
