The NFL owners and commissioner are in town for their annual fall meeting. Today, the group approved that the league would pay for a portion of the Redskins' $27M budgeted stadium improvements.
Is it just me or is this clearly a "skid-grease" for the team changing its name?

Snyder knows that changing the teams name at this point in time will be the final death knell for 1,000's of fans like me and he will lose money. The team sucks, save for a few splatters, and the only thing many fans have left are memories of the glory years the ended 20+ years ago which are attached to the name and logo. After that's gone, there is no more emotional attachment left to the team. Might as well be rooting for some shitty expansion team that is without history.

What would Danny change it to? We have the Washington Senators for our baseball team. The Washington Capitals (I know that in a political sense, CAPITOL is spelled with a "O"). That means, only the Washington Lobbyists would remain as a name option to use when going from the Redskins.
Let's hope this isn't true. Danny, please use a lot of your money to fight this. It is not warranted to have them force a name change for the team.

Colored people. Yes, colored people. I know, that is an antiquated term, not politically correct today, and offensive to many. But I do not hear any call for the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), the largest Black organization in the country, to change their name to the National Association for the Advancement of African Amnericans just to stay current with the times and not offend anyone. The NAACP is who they are, who they have been, and who they will be. They do not intend to offend or belittle anyone, that is just their name. So why can't the Redskins be given the same consideration? The name was not taken so many years ago with the intent to offend anyone, and even though it is antiquated and not politically correct today, it is who they are, who they were, and who they will be. Leave them alone.
