Bank Robbery in the Hybla Valley Area

Mount Vernon Police District - Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Friday, October 4. Around 12:30 p.m. a man entered the TD Bank located at 6615 Richmond Highway, and demanded money. The bank teller complied and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as black, medium build, and wearing a gray shirt and dark pants.

Police have reason to believe that this bank robbery may be related to previous robberies at the same bank. Information on the previous incidents may be found here:

Bank Robbery in the Annandale Area

Franconia Police District – Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Thursday, October 10, at the TD Bank, located at 7209 Little River Turnpike. Around 4:30 p.m. a man entered the bank and passed the 31-year-old teller a note demanding money. The victim was unable to give him cash so he fled the bank. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as black, in his 40s. He left the area in an older model, box-style Jeep Cherokee. Detectives believe this same suspect may be responsible for several other bank robberies. Doesn't seem like it would be rocket science to pull together some kind of computer 3-D model for release to the public to give an idea of what he looks like without the glasses. The man has been captured on camera multiple times and no one knows who he is?

The picture in the middle, from the newest set of pictures is pretty clear. Seems like it would be an easy effort.

Suspect Arrested in Alexandria City

Carlton Thorne Jr., 48, of Alexandria was arrested on Saturday, October 12 in the City of Alexandria. Fairfax County detectives have obtained three warrants charging Thorne with bank robberies that occurred in Fairfax County. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
