Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
According to Automotive News, the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles and, amazingly, the Virginia Automobile Dealer Association have come to an agreement to allow Tesla to open one dealership in the state. Tesla currently operates a order-taking outlet in a mall in Tysons Corner, a suburb of Washington, D.C., while their nearest service center is in Rockville, Maryland. Although details of the agreement are sealed, it is likely that Tesla will be allowed to build a full service store in the Tysons Corner area.

I saw the Teslas in the Tysons "showroom" and wasn't that impressed, especially considering the price tag. No character at all to these cars and the GIANT iPad on the dash doesn't add much to a crappy and cheap looking interior.
The rich-boy poseurs will snatch them right up and think they're cool to be seen riding in one tho'.

Has anyone else noticed the the new Tesla sedan looks strange from the rear? I mean, it looks a little too wide, with tires that are a little to narrow. It looks different from other sedans in this way. I'm guessing it's wider for battery carrying capacity, and narrow tired for better gas mileage. Looks kinda odd tho.

yeah this car sucks.. not what I'd spend $70- 100 g's on. I saw one on the toll road west once a couple years ago. He was in the right lane goin' kinda' slow..
Why do the many of the bad ass cars at the Maserati/ Lambo dealer say "base" on cars.com? I mean, what is a "base" Rolls, for example?

Totally agree. The tires are quite narrow, but that matches my penis. At least I have the uber charger in my garager, bro. You totally gotta see the Mazdas I buzz by on 28!!

The Tesla S is actually a pretty awesome car and the P85 would burn most of the cars that folks "would" spend 70K on. And, it is made in America as well and is one car closer to removing dependence on foreign oil. Worth checking out in person.
