No Insurance at All Obama Care

http://myfox8.com/2013/10/02/how-much-will-obamacare-cost-me-cost-calculator/

Check Out the calculator! A single person in Va 30 yrs old making 20 K a year pays 87 dollars a month with a 2000 dollar deductible.. thats almost 300 a month!

With out any insurance kicking in! What a huge scam rip off! People will not even be able to obtain simple preventive medical exams or checks.. Who has 300 dollars a month to shell out that makes 10 dollars a hour?

Loads of people have been in the gov web site.. But guess waht..few are signing up for this. What good is a Ffamily plan with a 12 K deductible??

If you make 250 K a year then a 600 dollar a month payment for a single is no problem nor is the 6000 dollar deductable to cover your ass if something bad happens..

The tragedy is this is costing people who have had good insurance their policies. And has drasticly raised others myself included a couple hundred a month!

Shut the Gov down damm it as long as it takes to get this horrible lyeing President out of here and his Dem pals who railroaded this tripe thur.
Impeach him if the US defaults on the debt because he will not give in and Yes He can be Impeached for destroying this countries medical care and the massive destructive effects of a federal default because of his lack of leadership.

Affordable Heath Care?? B.S is What it is.!

Who is dumb enough to put down their real salary. There are no safeguards in place to verify income. All a person has to do is put down they do not have a job and its free.

It was all "Supposed to be FREE!"

And even if it is to low income poeple ..who has 2K a year for deductibles before theres any off set??

Blood Pressure checks? Medications, Sugar?? Preventitive medicine that was supposed to help poor people.. Where the hell is it at with a 2000 dollar deductable?? Po folks cant afford that.. They wont be paying 250 for a check up even if they they get the "insurance free". The whole things a SCAM and few are or will be even signing up for this junk "insurance".

I would have no problem with it.. Except it is ruining everyones current insurance with premimun increases and companies are dropping out of their insurance and sending people out for this crap.

Ruined Ruined Ruined and Obama and his DEMS Did It! To the nations health insurance programs!

And wheres Tort reform?? Not with the Dems.. Sue baby sue hit the lottery suing a Dr for BS thats the DEMS. And thats the main reason our national health insurance programs needed any changes at all.

Wow, have you not been in the healthcare market at all? Not that $2K deductible isn't a problem -- I'm not saying that! -- but it's pretty common with a lot of plans. It's what most people call "catastrophic" insurance: if you get badly hurt/very sick, you don't wind up totally screwed.

For that matter, a friend who works for IBM has their high-end plan and paid over $25K *out of pocket* last year (has a kid who's quite sick). That's scary: a big company, multiple tiers, and he has the best tier, and still paid that much!

Thats highly unlikely unless he was going to out of network doctors/ones that didnt accept insurance, was using medicines not covered, or got double billed and never noticed it. Top tier plans didnt have that high of an out of pocket liability. Or your friends lying because he really likes Obamacare.

That 87 dollar a month Obamacare plan while having a comparable deductible also doesnt have drug coverage. The ones with full drug coverage seem to start around 200 which used to start at 100 for healthy people under 30. The other thing those silver and bronze Obamacare plans do is have significantly higher out of pocket liability than before. Usually it would be double your deductible, now your 2k deductible can have a 10 or 12k liability depending on what level plan you got.

Yeah, something's not right there. I'm familiar with their health insurance benefits. Some details in this story are missing.

First, lay off the alcohol or drugs. Or are you just illiterate?

Second, $87/month is NOTHING for health insurance. And obviously (well, not obvious to you) the deductible only applies if you use health care services at least equal to that amount. The majority of 30 year olds will not. Those that exceed that amount either have health problems that would have excluded them previously from any insurance at all, or have had catastrophic problems (like from a car accident) that would have cost them tens of thousands of dollars before Obamacare.

"People will not even be able to obtain simple preventive medical exams or checks.." You idiot. That is one of the key features of tha Affordable Care Act.

"The tragedy is this is costing people who have had good insurance their policies." No, it isn't, you moron. You got a policy, you keep your policy.

"And has drasticly raised others myself included a couple hundred a month!"

Prove it. I'm not holding my breath.

Not even remotely true.

If you had something bad you could still get a HIPAA plan. The exclusions were also 10 months when a plan started.

You also greatly under estimate the cost of medical care. Pretty much any surgery will run you about 2k and the vast majority wouldnt exclude you from anything. Get sick twice on the weekend and go to the ER and youre over that. You dont have to have terminal cancer to get over 2k.

Hell if you have reflux youll get over 2k from the testing and follow ups with the doctor. Lets try and keep it factual for once and lose the melodramatic you wouldnt be able to get insurance if you reached your deductible unless it was from an accident stuff.

Save your money. Do not buy Obamacare until you are really, really sick. Until then, pay the annual fine. Once you're really sick and likely to face huge medical bills, then sign up. You can't be denied coverage. The money you save will be more than enough to cover out-of-pocket, routine doctor visits. They only ones getting screwed will be taxpayers when they subsidize your ass after you never contributed! Eventually, the Obamacare system will fail because of the inherent unsustainable model, but until then, enjoy!

As the OP Said they will not be able to obtain simple medical exams.. Thats right because they will not want to pay $$ out of pocket because of the deductibles. Key feature?? If it was a covered benefit with out any deductible
for preventive exams..but its not true idiot.

Yes many current plans are being dumped and people are being told to go into Obama Care . Complete Morons should read the Wash Post article that was out yesterday telling that the FX Co Water Authority will have to get rid of its insurance by 2018 because of the 40% "Cadillac Tax"..

Yes insurance premium costs have skyrocketed on millions of current policies. Speaking of a skyrocket, what planet do some of you libs live on??

Lie spin all you want Obama Care is a fraud and a suck in.

The cheaper policies are for catastrophic coverage to keep you from going bankrupt if you get a massive medical bill.

False. HIPAA applied to people who already had insurance with a break in coverage of no more 63 days, and a variety of other constraints. Plus there were no caps on plan costs, which were probably astronomical.

That's not the way I read it. ALL plans are required to have drug coverage. Substantiate your claim.

Good luck with that, asshole. It doesn't work that way. The people who set this up saw you coming a mile away. You can only enroll during enrollment periods, which are the same for everyone and last about two months (starting in 2014). Once you've signed up for a plan (or opted out), you're stuck with it until the next enrollment period.

Drug discounts qualify as coverage but do very little for your check book. Go look at the plans and see where full drug coverage starts, its on the gold plans for the vast majority the silver only have discounts.

They were the same price as the Obamacare gold plans and they werent allowed to just charge whatever they wanted like youre suggesting. They were actually cheaper until they got the 20 percent Obamacare tax hike if you had a plan considered too good.

So in other words, you lied. All plans have drug coverage. Of course, the amount of coverage and your costs will differ with the level of plan you choose. We know that.

So in other words, you lied. You said "If you had something bad you could still get a HIPAA plan." That is not true for the majority of people (most of whom wouldn't even know about this option). And I was conjecturing on cost. I did not claim to know what these plans cost, so don't imply that I did.

Discounts are even close to full drug coverage like youre trying to make it sound like. Before you could pay 115 dollars and a mid 20s person and get full drug coverage now you have to pay over 200 for that. Im sorry if this is all too complicated and above your head.

Like I said though you have no interest in facts youre just spouting talking points to make things sound better than they are.

Dicounts while counting as drug coverage are not in fact drug coverage. Theres no cap on what you could spend on drugs with only a discount in your plan. You trying to say they all have to have drug coverage was an attempt to make people think its covered when its not.

If you want to be taken seriously, then quit spouting gibberish. Learn how to write a comprehensible sentence. And cut the crap about how I can't read. YOU can't write. Fact.

You constantly ask for FACTS, but when I present FACTS you ignore them or misrepresent them to suit your narrative. I'm not going to endlessly debate what YOU think I said. Stop it. It's getting old and it only makes you look more ridiculous than you already are.

Depends on the plan re the costs and deductibles. And nobody knows at this point how many people are signing up, least of all you. For those who have been off-loading their health care costs on the rest of us (via the ER), I'm sure it does look expensive. But for those who have heretofore been denied coverage and appreciate the value of health insurance, it is a godsend.

Anecdotal. We shall see.

Quit whining, you crybaby. So are middle aged and older people. You'd have to reach back 40+ years to find near universal employer funded retirement plans.

I knew it - here's the real point. You spoiled brats might have to actually make CHOICES. The horror! I know this is hard to believe, but you don't need your cellphone, your iPad, your video games, your mochachino latte, and all the other crap you've gotten used to. Not gonna happen. Despite all the hype, even that pompous ass Ted Cruz knows that people will like Obamacare. Sorry if it puts a crimp in your style - but deal with it!

You mean how youve had nothing since I corrected your misrepresentation of what kind of drug coverage those plans actually have?

So were in agreemeant the bronze and silver plans dont have drug coverage they give discounts with no caps that still have a substantial financial liability. Im glad weve cleared up that all plans dont pay for your perscriptions even though plans in that price range previously did before the price hikes
