Did the sheriff cheat the county when he signed his DROP agreement knowing he was going to run again for office thus violating the fore mentioned document?

Definition of CHEAT
transitive verb
1: to deprive of something valuable by the use of deceit or fraud
2: to influence or lead by deceit, trick, or artifice
3: to elude or thwart by or as if by outwitting

intransitive verb
1a : to practice fraud or trickery b : to violate rules dishonestly

Is this the kind of behavior you expect or want from your only elected law enforcement official? It's your vote, Fairfax deserves a Sheriff With Integrity!

Hey Sanctimonious, what is the definition of privacy? Can you share it with your boy Cooper?

Sheriff Candidate Cooper violating my privacy

Can someone tell me how retired Sheriff's Employee Bill Cooper gained access to my private home address? I work in the Sheriffs Department, in the jail. I only provide my home address when legally required to do so. I have received campaign mail from Coopers campaign addressed to me as a Sheriffs Office employee. I did not give anyone permission to give my private address to Bill Cooper. He and someone in the Sheriffs Office has violated county policy and my legal right to privacy. Maybe I should check my credit report in case he has my social security number also. Cooper needs to stop claiming he is earning anyones trust and confidence. I am pissed and I know a lot of other deputies are upset about this as well. Well???

You are a perfect example of why a new Sheriff is needed. There's a hundred of you in the Sheriff's Office and Barry embraces you. A zillion more employed throughout the County. You cost the taxpayer millions in frivolous litigation. Constant trips to Civil Service for perceived injustices. Whine, whine, whine. Go back to mama. Just be glad you have a job, Bozo.

The Sheriff is most likely not a cheat. He certainly is taking advantage of the system. I did a little research into this and found that the BOS is keeping very clear of his retirement issues. They have tabled the issue until after the election. None of them have endorsed the Sheriff yet and it looks like he's the kiss of death for Democratic politicians. This means one of two things: 1. He loses the election, the problem goes away. 2. He wins the election, the problem goes away. (they will have received the stamp of approval from the voters). We'll see how much the voters in Fairfax County will tolerate from their leaders. It'll be interesting.

@ honest injun. I have been watching this whole DROP thing with interest as well. I agree with you that if barry loses this election, the problem goes away. However, i disagree with you if he is re-elected. It doesn't go away.

1)he has to answer to his 600 person staff why he promised the citizens to retire and hasn't left breaking his written committment (saying he made a deal with the county attorney doesn't cut it)The values he claims are honor, courage and service. By entering into an agreement that you have no intention of honoring doesn't seem to be in consonance with any of these values.
2) he can't let DROP money sit in limbo as he claims. The IRS has strict rules regarding retirement accounts and he will be breaking many of them.
3)he says he is doing what any other county employee has the ability to do. He is being deceitful as no other county employee can make backroom deals to scam the system.
4) i am concerned that the IRS has a great interest in the developments of this issue and are waiting to come sniffing around put the entire program in jeopardy over the actions of one person.
