I have one piece of advice for Pat Herrity - please don't forget western P.W. county. People were more familiar with Keith Fimian in that area, which is where Keith cleaned up against Pat.

Also, Pat Herrity is more "moderate" than Keith Fimian was. Pat's more like Tom Davis - a more moderate Republican and that's why Fairfax voted him into office.

Gerry Connolly is a career politician, a "yes" man, and a hack. He and the FX CTY BOS made our community a lot of promises in 2006, none of which came through. Five years later, and almost 6 weeks after yet another catastrophic flood, I am done with him, Jim Moran, and the entire Board of Supervisors. They have basically told our community we are on our own, there will be no flood remediation. I realize that he is in a different position now then he was back in 2006, but our situation during the past few years has been "eye opening" to say the least when it comes to elected officials and the government.

Sorry for the rant, but I believe Fairfax County has foresaken citizens' wellfare in the name of developers. There is more $$$ in it for the County's coffers. I probably should have started a seperate thread for this rant, but oh well. We moved our cars to higher ground earlier (expect street flooding, not structral damage), per the County's advice and I am too tired...

As per the comment above, that's right. Pat is more moderate, although compared to Congressman Connolly, he's a far right conservative. Those pics scared me, I might need counseling.

Won't happen either way. Gerry will represent our district for years to come.

I'm not a fan of the Democrats but Gerry "Weasel" Connolly has gotten more done in his tenure than the Republicans got done in a decade. It's easy to be an "Armchair Quarterback" from behind your computer, its another thing to be out there actually getting something done. So either pick up a shovel and get that new Metro line in or use that shovel to move your own shit!

Your name is appropriate, since that's what's left in most people's pockets now, due to Gerry "Hit and Run" Connolly. Connolly is against drilling in every conceivable condition, and likes foreign oil compared to what we could get off of Virginia or in Alaska. $1.79 to what is it now, $3.50 a gallon? As I understand it, Pat isn't running for Congress next year - at least, he hasn't said he wants to do it again. Given the schedule and the hard work he put in last time, I can understand why. It's not fun.

There are two guys I've met who have announced they are already running against Connolly next year. One is Ken Vaughn, an engineer who is in the western part of the district. The other is Chris Perkins, a former green beret and small business owner who has been actively campaigning and has raised a good chunk of money already.

Gerry Connolly won't get the "full" House of Representatives retirement package. In order to get that, he would have to have served 3 successful terms (6 years). If Pat will unseat him this time around, that would only be 4 years for ol' Gerry. I'm not sure of the exact benefits he'd receive - but, at least they wouldn't be full benefits.

The real irony would be if he were to get busted for a few DUIs after he's out of office so the supporters of him would be able to see his true colors.

This is something that NO media outlet or local/regional leaders seem to question. **Your comments remind me of a fish, gasping for air that has been landed by an angler. Herrity made the motion at the January, 2008 meeting asking for the Board to send a letter to VDOT requesting that the ramps be opened to traffic outside of HOV hours. I guess Gerry is taking credit because as Chairman, the letter went out under his signature. However, it was Pat (and Sup. Michael Frey's) proposal he's taking credit for. You said you didn't run away, but have nothing, nada, to offer to this, other than name calling. I have listed the lack of accomplishments of GC, including his friends Obama and Pelosi. Yet all you have to do is call me worthless. Perhaps you are discussing your friend Gerry, or the fact that you lack the testicles and the combination of intelligence to hold up to me. That's right, I'm calling you out, you've offered nothing but name calling, and not brought up one thing that Connolly has done nor denied what is fact. That's cowardice defined.

Funny how now Gerry is pulling a "Gerry" again, with his "political opportunist/sticking his thumb" in the air. Today he mentioned that Barack Obama won't win Virginia again in 2012. Duh. Of course, and he's now doing his part to distance himself from the Obama agenda, that he so richly will support if Obama is re elected. Do you recall the massive spending increases by Fairfax county while Gerry was in charge? Not sure why ole Gerry even bothers to go to DC and vote. A robot can do the same as he does. He will always do exactly as Nancy P. instructs him to do. But I wonder, and am being cynical here, about Gerry's big candidate slogan back in 2008. Gerry told us how great he was for removing the $25 fee for decal. Well, now there is no decal, but the fee has increased by over 50%. Was there a plan in place all along? The Dem's controlled legislature and wanted good ole Gerry in national office. The short term loss of sticker revenue has surely been taken care of with 50% increase.

Its the Democrats way, pay now or pay more later. What is the public missing?

GC is the worst representative this area has had ever. While Tom Davis wasn't ideal, his moderate, common sense solutions were better than Gerry's toeing the company line 95% of the time. That might be okay if the Obama Administration was moderately based on their policies, but their's make Clinton's look like right wing neanderthals. Its time for Gerry to go, and get anyone else to take his seat from him in a primary on the Democratic side, or for a strong Republican candidate, like Herrity or def not Fimian, run against him. He must go. He doesn't represent Fairfax, he represents himself.

Pat Herrity is old news and, bless his heart, he's still a two time loser. Plus, he's too moderate for us. We need someone who's going to give US CITIZENS OF FAIRFAX COUNTY some traction in Congress. I think people will be so pissed at the current slew of Democraps that most will sit this one out or vote with an eye toward a true conservative. Fimian can make it in spaids this time. What I'm more concerned about is getting the drunkin' Irish boxer the hell out of Congress.

I think Gerry should run for Governor. He's too big for his diapers in these parts.
