Vote Robert Sarvis for governor! He is for marijuana legalization! Neither of the two main candidates have explicitly said that they are for marijuana legalization! It's about time that Virginia gets a fighting chance to legalize marijuana.. SPREAD THE WORD, VOTE ROBERT SARVIS FOR GOVERNOR!

Probably no more losers walking around high on drugs. Most of them are already getting and using drugs. There will Just fewer losers clogging up the court system and filling the jails.
It would however remove some hypocrisy from the system, because we'd no longer be looking for reasons to shake down young urban males or looking for an excuse to ignore the same activity among the more affluent. It would also seriously weaken the power of gangs in this country and south of the Rio Grande that use drugs as one of their major financial sources, and it could even bring jobs back to the U.S. It would prove a major embarrassment to U.S. foreign policy in Latin America to do a 180 in the War on Drugs after leaning on other countries to crack down.
Realistically though the most that could be expected in the immediate future is decriminalization of pot.
Sarvis may be for decriminalizing pot, but that is just a small part of the Libertarian attitude of minding your own goddam business and not making up a bunch of rules as to how others should conduct their lives. And another part of that attitude is, if you fuck up your own life, don't come whining to me to bail you out. Politicians should just leave people alone, abide by the Constitution, and keep their hands out of other people's pockets and we will all do just fine.
Sarvis had no chance. Libertarians would be happier with Gillespie over Warner, but instead it's because of their votes for Sarvis they missed out on that. Looks like Warner keeps his job. Great.
If enough people would vote for sarvis to get the 10% needed to claim major party status it would help to move towards something better than the flawed two party system that we are stuck with. Unfortunately that didn't happen because people believe voting 3rd party is wasting your vote.
Another Libertarian f---ing things up for Conservatives. So, great, we got a Democrat again as Senator for Conservative Virginia. Way to go Libertarians, you proved a point.

YEP, I expect the DEMS are behind this. Just like in the Governor election.
The votes that went to this guy would have given us a Republican Senator.
