Terry McAullife will sucessfully ban assault weapons

To all you gun nut freaks. Say good by to your unlimited purchasing power each month, high capacity magazines, private sale loop hole and ASSAULT WEAPONS!! Your boy kook stands no chance of winning partially because 2nd amendment supporters in Fairfax and the rest of the state are too lazy to vote or vote for a 3rd party wack job giving us the election. It's about time free ranged lunatics now will have to deal with strict gun laws pertaining to purchasing and owning. Enjoy your firearms and magazines while you still have them.

Thank you,
Democrat voter

Dear Democrat voter. 1. Please read the Constitution. 2. I assume you think anything with a bullet in it is an "assault" weapon. 3. If an armed intruder breaks into your house, just throw a stapler at him as suggested by the Obama Adminstration. That should stop him right in his tracks.

Sincerely, Republican voter

So can we just skip all the middle steps then and just have Terry and the Dems who would vote for it leave office?

First wouldnt happen.

Second it would just result in a successful recall probably along with anyone who voted for it.

Third you apparently learned nothing from the much more liberal state of Colorado

Maryland has a backlog of over 100,000 gun purchases to be reported to the state police. Obama is doing a great job.

Too funny, I know people who were against having a gun, and did not want one in the house, Now they have a gun safe, and a few hand guns, mossburg 500 roadblocker and are looking into getting a a few more.
The Liberals plan backfired. the majority are stocking up.

It's great that y'all think you're the majority, even though you keep losing national elections.

99.9% of the cops in this country support gun ownership. Why because they know that gun laws only hurt people who arent going to break the law anyway and they know that the police are never able to respond (even in Fairfax) to stop a violent attack or a break in.

D's for the most part always blame the gun, not the real issue, which has nothing to do with the Constitution. The second amendment is just as important as the first, or any other for that matter.

Blah blah blah. The same old drivel Republicans keep vomiting out of their mouths over and over. It the same old shit like a broken record.

Face it pootang- A assault rifle is now considered any semi automatic rifle with a detachable magazine regardless if you like it or not.

Lib Logic use some logic- The NRA went after 2 no-body reps in Colorado that they new would be easy to recall and spent a fortune doing so. What has it accomplished? Nothing ding dong.

You do understand a lot of liberals own guns right?

Its mostly progressives that despise them which until recently was the fringe of the liberal party.

You understand they were both from Democratic districts right? Or is your argument now that republican districts elect Democratic leaders?

You also know the NRA cant recall anyone right?

Howd the recall in Wisconsin work out?

That election was gamed by the Republicans to deny mail-in votes - in a state where most votes are mailed in. And 52,540 people voted in the two Senate districts out of a state population of over 5,000,000. That's one percent. Hardly a groundswell.

And Bloomberg spent how much trying to keep them in office?
Heard about the lawsuits being filed in Colorado?
Heard about the SCOTUS rulings on McDonald and Heller? (precedent you know)
What has it accomplished? The other Dems who voted for the gun bill are

By Kate Milani

Terry McAuliffe and Ken Cuccinelli are tied in Virginia’s race for governor, a new poll shows, but voters don’t feel very good about their choices.

How about this? Looks like Terry doesn't know his ass from his elbow.
Mail order guns? Laughable at best.

I'll explain it to a simple minded dog such as yourself about the mail order guns.

If John smith sees a gun in a Newspaper (Vally trader) or online VA gun board (gunbroker.com) they can contact the person who lives in the same state (in this case we are talking about Virginia asshat), send them money and the seller can ship them a rifle or shotgun via USPS ground without ever meeting the person face to face. God forgives your stupidity and lack of being able to think out of the box.

The poll in the NBC article is the Quinnipac poll, while the poll the WSJ article is the Roanoke College poll.

The truth is that neither Democrats nor Republicans seem to like their candidates all that much. The Republicans have a slight advantage in the "just hold your nose and vote for our guy" area, though, because getting a bunch of Democrats to do anything is like herding cats, although this might be offset by the Dems disliking the Cooch more than they dislike McAwful.

I predict that there's gonna be a light turnout, because a lot of people are just gonna figuratively vote "none of the above" by staying home.

Not without going through all the same procedures as a face to face buy. They also cannot mail you the gun. They can mail it to a gun dealer in your area, but unless you have a federal license to deal guns you cannot get guns in the mail.

Try calling VA Arms or a gun store of your choice and ask to have the gun shipped to you. Let us know how that works out.

By why let facts get in the way.

Yes they can. Private sellers that are In state residents can ship firearms to each other. FFL no, private to private yes. Gun broker and armslist is full of adds for private transactions and a lot of people will ship them two you if they receive cash or a money order.

Do your homework Mr Ill-logical.

From USPS - Shipping Terms & Conditions - Firearms

11.3 Rifles and Shotguns

Although unloaded rifles and shotguns not precluded by 11.1.1e and 11.1.2 are mailable, mailers must comply with the Gun Control Act of 1968, Public Law 90-618, 18 USC 921, et seq., and the rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, 27 CFR 178, as well as state and local laws. The mailer may be required by the USPS to establish, by opening the parcel or by written certification, that the gun is unloaded and not precluded by 11.1.1e.

Thats questionable to the legality when you ship it.

However that has nothing to do with buying online. It was being implied that buying it online somehow changed the rules for how a gun could be purchased. It doesnt. Regardless of online or in person ffl or private its all the same rules. You can still only legally sell to someone who is legally allowed to buy it. If you sell it to a felon or anyone else and they use it in a crime you can be held legally responsible.

He was wording it to try and make people think you can just go online buy a gun from anywhere and someone there were no laws that applied to it.

Understand but the fact is in Virginia the buyer has no responsibility and does not have to have paperwork when selling a firearm. The laws pertain to the buyer. Obviously you would have to be crazy not to fill out a bill of sale but believe me, many sellers just don't care. As for shipping via USPS it is 100% legal except for shipping a handgun which is a big no no.

From http://www.atf.gov/content/firearms-frequently-asked-questions-unlicensed-persons (answers slightly edited for brevity).

Q: To whom may an unlicensed person transfer firearms under the GCA?

A person may sell a firearm to an unlicensed resident of his State, if he does not know or have reasonable cause to believe the person is prohibited from receiving or possessing firearms under Federal law.

Q: May a nonlicensee ship a firearm through the U.S. Postal Service?

A nonlicensee may not transfer a firearm to a non-licensed resident of another State. A nonlicensee may mail a shotgun or rifle to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. Handguns are not mailable. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun.

Q: May a nonlicensee ship a firearm by common or contract carrier?

A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm.

Assembling these three answers together, one can conclude:

1) It is perfectly legal for one Virginian to buy a gun from another Virginian who does not have a FFL, as long as the purchaser is not prohibited from buying or possessing a firearm.

2) It is perfectly legal for one Virginian to buy a gun from another Virginian who does not have a FFL and have the seller ship it via USPS, as long as it is not a handgun.

3) It is perfectly legal for one Virginian to buy a handgun from another Virginian who does not have a FFL and have the seller ship it via a common carrier, but the seller/shipper must inform the carrier that the package contains a handgun.

This is the Federal law, by the way. AFAIK there are no state laws in Virginia that prohibit sending guns through the mail or via common carrier.

So, here's my theoretical. I am a law-abiding person and not prohibited from owning a gun. I see an ad from someone who's selling a Glock 17 and they live in Norfolk. I send them the money, and they send me the gun via UPS, FedEx, DHL, or whatever method makes them happy. This is perfectly legal, and should be.

Would I actually buy a gun this way? Of course not, because I'd want to inspect it first and make sure it was in good condition.

Yes you would buy it that way if you didnt want to pay the 550 glocks cost in stores around here, or if there was a substantial savings for something else, or if it was something not stocked locally, or if it was a gun you were collecting. Theres numerous reasons why you would do it that have nothing to do with avoiding the background check.

Anyone selling to people who shouldnt be able to have it in that method would do the same thing in person theres no difference. Being online actually makes it easier to catch them and creates paper trails to make prosecuting very easy.

Or if I want to sell a gun to a friend who might live in another part of the state. It's my private property and I should be able to sell it at my will anytime I choose to and not go through red tape. I don't need nanny watching over my back.

Nearly every idea concocted by liberals in the last 50 years has backfired. The threat of banning guns has led to the largest increase in gun ownership in American history. Actual bans have led to terrible crime rates in cities where the law-abiding are defenseless, such as Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, and every other cesspool run by democrats. The Frank-Dodd regulations forcing banks to provide mortgages to unqualified borrowers led to the collapse of the housing industry. Obamacare will kill millions of jobs. The list just goes on and on. The same is that libs are too retarded to ever learn.

Wack jobs all of you. After more restrictions it is time to do away with the second amendment, it is slowly coming.

Dude, you've lost. Give it up. You've gotten your ass stomped in every attempt. Feinstein even just goes through the motions and half-asses it at this point. There won't be any bans. There won't be any substantive changes. You know why? Because the majority of sensible people understand that it's all bullshit and does nothing. Sorry.

And stop thinking about my dick. lol

Keep telling yourself the same thing like a broken NRA record. Times are changing and not before long their will be so many restrictions it will be nearly impossible for wacko's such as yourself to own a firearm. Enjoy em before they take em.

Uh, yeah, they are. Against you. You've lost the battle because your arguments were weak and virtually none of you have any remote clue what you're talking about. People have heard the same uniformed BS and they don't buy it any more. They've come to understand that it's not the guns that are the problem. Even women and minorities are buying guns in record numbers now. lol

So sorry. You gave it a good run.

And the State assembly has nothing to say?? Just like a Dem to think they have all the power.

If MCAWFULL gets in it will be a sick day for a huge number of Virginians because they will have witnmessed the sale of the Governors Office.

AND The General Assembly will be stuck spinning wheels in the sand if McAwfull tries to govern like the Big O.

Hopefully MCAWFULL will not be that stupid. He will give LIP SERVICE to gun control buts thats all hes going to get.

Especially now that the Navy Yard shooter used a off the shelve SHOTGUN with a Off the Shelve Hacksaw to create a murder weapon that fires a BLAST, not A Shot. The results in Colorado at the Movies, The School Horror in Conn would all be the same Or Maybe Even Worse if a Shotgun was used.

So all the Shotgun owning Dems are going to give em up, their Sporting Clay guns, their hunting guns...Sorry its not going to happen. And they will be branded AND SEEN as hypocrites now if they try to ban AR15s, or try to come up with mag capacity bans.

Enough Feeding The Trolls..

If or when terry bans semi-automatic rifles. The citizens of the Commonwealth will revolt. The Virginia constitution has a more "liberal" reading on gun rights than the US constitution. This is all thanks to George Mason. Fucking democrats are nothing more than the nazis of old. It's all about government control.

I hate to break it to you but most cops can't shoot worth a shit and actually many don't like guns. Why do you think when someone gets shot these days they take like 30 bullets from the cops? They all get freaked and start blasting away.

Did you know their quals are to shoot <50 rounds at a giant piece of paper once a year? That's a bit different than a moving person shaped target that may or may not be shooting back, standing in a crowd, or holding a hostage.

That being said the police have a tough job and put their lives on the line to maintain law and order every day and for that I am thankful.

But there are people in this country who live out in the country where the police can't get there quickly or in bad areas where the police are just overwhelmed and they can call 911 but when seconds count minutes response time are not good things...

Also, there have been a few of these posts saying gun owners are going to "lose their guns". Doubt that. Maybe some restrictions, but no one is going to get their guns taken. Trying to do something like that would be the tipping point and basically this country would be in a world of crap.

It's about time assault rifles get banned in VA along with closing gun show loop holes. VA is the number one supplier of guns to people committing crimes in nearby places like DC, MD and NY.

Plus of course the Navy Yard shooting.

Any laws will be killed in committee.

What you kool aid drinkers don't realize is the legislature enacts a bill, 99% killed in committee such as this, before it even gets a floor vote. Obviously it would get x'ed out, and will never make it to McAuliffe's desk.

Not as long as other states allow them. The only way this will happen is with a federal ban .

Even magazine bans will not fully happen. Yes it may some day come down as no more then a 10 roung mag for a pistol Unless you have a CCW or are on your own property or at a range. Or no carrying long guns around with loaded mags in excess of 10 rounds ..Unless your at a shooting range or on Your Own property..

The State House is not as stupid as the OP troll. They will leave the issue to Congress so pissed off Virginians can throw them out and they will..all over the rest of the state.

Stop trying to save the world, making more debt, making more lazy people dependant on welfare, etc. Look at OBAMACARE. How's that one doing? Let me guess it's Bush's fault no one can sign up on the website or keep their plan...right? or I must be drinking that Kool-Aid..

OH yes I am all for lawful gun ownership regardless of the weapon I choose to purchase.
