Anyone know why the mobile units were racing south on the parkway tonight? Around 6:30 I saw 3 headed south bound on the parkway.

Dunno man. I saw them too. I thought they were prisoner transport vehicles, but I had no idea why their sirens were on.

I saw them too. They got off at Rolling Road at around 6:45-7:00pm.

Donut run for the late-June eastern county stations supply, one truck empties Costco, another BJ's, and a third hops various 7-11 and grocery stores.

Saw them on Fort Hunt Road near Mt. Vernon around 5:30 pm. Lights blazing and blowing through traffic lights? WTF?

Seriously? Three command units because the guy won't answer the door to be arrested for a failure to appear warrant from another county? I have some overdue library books and an expired inspection sticker, I guess it is just a matter of time before they get to me.

There is absolutely NO reason for three command vehicles to repond to an incident of this nature. I could see a reason for one command vehicle, But THREE? Fairfax County spends entirely too much of the taxpayers' money on "toys."

There is also NO REASON for them to respond to an incident "hot", or "code 3" (meaning use of lights and sirens-busting through intersections) There were already several officers on the scene attempting to conrol the situation. There was already a command post established. Getting a Command Unit on the scene quickly is not a necessity. They were endangering he lives of the citizens by responding "hot."

There were some compliance and performance auditors involved as well. That's one of the reasons for the big turn-out.
